This league is crazy. As mentioned, the Timbers are up to 8th. A win in Austin would guarantee them that spot, but if the Galaxy lose or draw vs RSL on Decision Day, it would see them jump to 7th and bypass the play-in entirely. What a 9pt week does for you. #RCTID
FULL TIME: Timbers 3 - 1 Dynamo Velde and Halter have to be separated at the final whistle, but that was a convincing win at home for a Timbers team rounding into form at the perfect time. Huge 3pts. Timbers up to 8th in the Western Conference. #RCTID
It’s worth a reminder: Throwing things from the stands at players on the pitch is dumb, and if you do it you should never be allowed to attend a match again. #RCTID
90+3’ An eruption of cheers for a customary Diego Chara yellow. Gonna miss moments like those :( #RCTID
90’ Diego and Ortiz ON // Da Costa and Caicedo OFF #RCTID
I’ll tell you what, I don’t think Lucas Halter and Kristoffer Velde will be having a drink together after this match… Velde just barking at him at every opportunity - foul, throw in, free kick, Kris is just in his ear. #RCTID
81’ Aravena and Omir ON // Janssen and Lassiter OFF #RCTID
80’ How on earth did that ball not go over the line lol? #RCTID
78’ Vincent Janssen adds to his two assists with a third goal for the Timbers in front of the Army. Dunked on the ‘keeper. #RCTID
Stumptown Footy@stumptownfooty.bsky.social · 2d agoBIG LEAP, BIG VINNYYYYYYYY #RCTID
71’ Houston score, 2-1. Bad giveaway from Caicedo in the defensive third, Bouzat with the finish. UGHHHH #RCTID
65’ What. A. Ball from big Vinny. First time over the top on the half turn, and Velde timed his run *perfectly* for a 1v1 with Gillingham, and easy finish. Timbers up two with less than 30 to play. #RCTID
Stumptown Footy@stumptownfooty.bsky.social · 2d agoVELDINHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 2-0 #RCTID
62’ Bassett ON // Eric Izoita OFF Another great showing from the kid tonight. #RCTID
On second review, that’s not a pen. But to whistle the play dead while Portland had the ball in an attacking scenario for something that isn’t a head injury? Joke. #RCTID
Stumptown Footy@stumptownfooty.bsky.social · 2d ago55’ Velde hacked down in the box and Fischer just waves it off… Then blows the whistle for the Houston player down… #RCTID
55’ Velde hacked down in the box and Fischer just waves it off… Then blows the whistle for the Houston player down… #RCTID
49’ Izoita furious with Drew Fisher for not giving him a free kick outside the box. Looked to have a case. #RCTID
46’ Back for the second half, attacking the North End. #RCTID
HALFTIME: Timbers 1 - 0 Dynamo Great first half from Portland, who should probably be winning by more than the one goal. Caicedo excellent, Velde and Da Costa constant danger, and Eric Izoita continuing to shine in midfield. What aaare we drinkin’? #RCTID
If that overhead kick from big Vinny had gone in I think I would have had to label the Timbers a team of destiny… #RCTID
26’ It’s 1-0 Timbers thanks to le petit Prince. Ball from Janssen is dummied by Velde, and Da Costa roofs a left-footed blast past Gillingham. Gorgeous goal. #RCTID

DA COOOOOSTAAAAAAAAAAA SCORES AND HOUSTON HAS A PROBLEM #RCTID
22’ Lassiter earns Portland’s first corner of the match. Da Costa in-swinger is bundled around in the box before Izoita swivels around to have a shot blocked for another one. #RCTID
18’ Smith earns Portland’s first card of the match for a late “challenge” that probably should have just gone as a foul. #RCTID
10’ Head in hands moment for Janssen, who nods over the bar from inside the six yard box COMPLETELY unmarked… Velde found him with a glorious cross, he’s gotta stick that one in the back of the net. #RCTID
1’ Timbers attacking the south deck first half #RCTID
“All the rainy days might seem bleak. Our rain is the paint that makes the land lush and the folks unique.” Salute @timbersarmy.org #RCTID
Well folks, we’ve made it to November MLS soccer. Somehow the Timbers, despite the craziness of this year, still have a very decent chance of making the postseason. Houston Dynamo is the opponent tonight, and they’re a dangerous team. How’s everyone feeling? #RCTID
