In early July, members of our Ranger team installed two bespoke bridges at Loft Beck and Far Easedale. The new bridges provide safer stream crossings in mountainous terrain for walkers, offering more accessible routes instead of stepping stones and uneven surfaces.

Did you know two species of snake can be found in the Lake District National Park: the adder and the grass snake. The adder is the UK's only venomous snake. In spring, the males perform a 'dance' during which they duel to fend off competition to mate. #WorldSnakeDay

Young people from across six Cumbrian schools came together with 34 local employers in Grasmere last week to learn about skills and careers in the environment and heritage sector. Students were able to try practical activities such as dry-stone walling, hedge laying and lime plastering.
