🧵 #StarTrek #VGR wrap-up readouts from #TrekRewatch5 appear within this thread. Beginning here with my full series episode rankings for Star Trek: Voyager. This rewatch ran from November 28, 2025-September 6, 2026. 172 episodes in 283 days.

"Renaissance Man" is a middling thriller, which ends up feeling superfluous given its late placement in the run of the series. There are mildly amusing moments throughout, but it's unsubstantial and makes virtually no lasting impression. Inoffensive but below average. Score: 1.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Natural Law" is methodically paced and does nicely showcase Chakotay's underserved background anthropologist background. It's certainly not profoundly new in its themes and messaging, but it does feel like a throwback. Not altogether dynamic, but also not without value. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Friendship One" begins with the promise of a unique set-up, but quickly transitions into fairly rote hostage drama territory. The tension never becomes fully baked, and most of what does translate is achieved through the mean-spirited killing of a recurring character. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

“Author, Author” might feel more resonant if it came in the early part of the series, as The Doctor’s actions and reactions feel retrograde. There’s some fun, inventive filmmaking on the surface which gives it some levity, and there’s big picture value in broad strokes. Score: 2.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Q2" is a light and easy comedy with some genuinely humorous moments sprinkled throughout. It follows a very safe roadmap and offers little in the way of surprises. Props for effective stunt casting, as Keegan de Lancie strikes the right tone for anchoring the story. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Human Error" starts Seven on a controversial path, and I'm neither violently opposed nor enthusiastic about it. The exploration of significant bumps in Seven's road to embracing her humanity is worthwhile and fascinating. I wish it led to a more fulfilling resolution. Score: 2.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Workforce, Part II" offers a satisfying payoff to the first half by putting a strong emphasis on emotionally charged scenes, built on character histories and relationships. Solid action beats keep things moving, but the character drama is what really stands out here. Score: 3.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

BildBildBild

"Workforce, Part I" is an ambitious production with elaborate production design and an outstanding use of the entire ensemble cast. It's also loaded with well pitched social commentary, making smart use of its sci-fi construct. Fluidly paced, intricate storytelling. Score: 3.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Prophecy" is admittedly a bit of a contrivance conceptually, but there's good solid character work here for B'Elanna and Tom. Wren T. Brown is also a solid central guest performer as Kohlar, putting a unique spin on a Klingon character. Inconsistent, but interesting. Score: 2.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Like Chronitons Through the Hourglass" is much better than I expected. It's a soap opera for sure in every stylistic way, and it fully embraces the melodrama. But it's far from a pointless diversion. If you can crack the aesthetic code, Pike's story is a profound exploration of grief and loss.

"Shattered" has a great sense of fun with its high-concept and provides a poignant opportunity to underline the depth of the Janeway/Chakotay duo's development over the course of the series. It's a satisfying, well constructed, time-bending thriller with a breakneck pace. Score: 4.0/5 #TrekRewatch5
