Honey Lee Cottrell (center, photographed with Susie Bright by Mariette Pathy Allen) was a visionary lesbian photographer and filmmaker. Cottrell was a proud union member and was involved in the founding of the GLBT Historical Society. Honey Lee Cottrell died on September 21, 2015. 🖤

Rich Dockter was a leather community organizer and advocate for HPV vaccination. Dockter was a co-owner and producer of Thunder in the Mountains. He volunteered for the Missing Children Department of the Denver Police and Hey Denver, an STI/HIV testing facility. Dockter died on September 20, 2016. 🖤

Happy birthday, Chris and JimEd! Chris Burns and his lover JimEd Thompson, photographed on the cover of Drummer by Jim Moss, were born on September 17th and 18th. JimEd and Chris both suffered AIDS related complications and died on June 21, 1988 and February 26, 1995 respectively. 🖤

Bill Schmeling, aka The Hun, was an erotic artist and former Lutheran minister who made his home in Portland with his partner Roland Bynum. He was a full time artist from the 1960s until his retirement in 2008. Bill died on September 12, 2019. 🖤

Harold E. Cox was a professor of history, co-founder of Delta Brotherhood International, editor of Checkmate, and a majority shareholder of the LURE bar in New York. Cox was made an honorary member of The 15 Association. Cox died on September 8, 2021 at the age of 90. 🖤
