Watching Portrait Artist of the Year on YT has inspired me to dust off the watercolors and do some plein air! Here’s a painting of the vibiest spots around Boston, Lovestruck books!

Watercolor painting held up to the reference, the patio of Lovestruck Books. Watercolor painting of a terraced patio entrance to Lovestruck books. Colorful flowers hang from above a sign which reads the name of the bookshop.

I’ve been completely delinquent in working on my webcomic unfortunately. But I’ve started again! Here’s the Fish King #1.10! I’ll try harder to draw and post more regulary, I swear!

Black and white comic showing King Arthur hiding behind a log feeling worried that he can’t defeat a dragon. Elsewhere his friends Yvain and Gawain holler and cheer him on. Panel 2 of a black and white comic.

Yvain and Gawain’s cheers attract the attention of the dragon who shoots a gout of flame at them. Luckily Yvain’s lion dog companion Lunette saves them just in the nick of time. Part 3 of a black and white comic.

Yvain and Gawain cheer loudly that the dragon missed. Meanwhile Arthur realizes his friends will get themselves killed with their stupid antics unless he does something about the dragon.

Here's the finished concept for my Icarus linocut. Definitely a bit ambitious considering I'm very green at printmaking but if you're not trying to push yourself then what's the point?

Digital concept drawing of a two-toned linocut drawn in a cartoon style. In orange is a person with long hair and ragged clothing wearing a pair of fraying paper wings. The person is thrilled and reaching upwards at the viewer, not noticing that their wings are falling apart. Behind them, the ocean is drawn in dark blue. This is based off of the Icarus myth from classic Greek mythology.

Been super delinquent in making comics or posting anything, but here’s a fun little WIP that I started yesterday. It’s based on Icarus from Greek mythology. Idk might be a fun linocut challenge?

Black and white drawing of a teen wearing ragged clothes and a set of wooden wings. They are flying up towards the viewer with their arm outstretched as their wings fray and break behind them.

Just like how I love looking at before/after pictures of my art, there really is something magical about looking at before/after pictures of bread too! Here’s some cheddar jalapeno sourdough for your Sunday morning.
