You're only hurting yourself by avoiding it, it's time to recognize that it isn't a hobby when you took someone else's money for it. They worked hard for that too.

the first things i look for in a new platform that's trying to attract people to it is ① what is your actual use case, ② does it make sense, and ③ what is your *funding* source because boy it sucks to start moving into a new place and then "haha jk we don't know what we're doing, bye"

Ellory@thelocalmuffin.bsky.social · 5d agoHey so as a heads up. This. Is. All. Commissions. PayPal is DREADFUL to work with. Do not mention the word. Do not censor the word. Please just pay the invoice. If you do the artist you commissioned WILL get in trouble.
I've been using PayPal invoices for years, mentioning the word "commission" and have had no problems. The issue arises when you do business by making people pay via Friends & Family. Please stop spreading misinformation.

All that to say, I agree with you, and I hear you. I'm with you. This whole thing sucks bad. If it's better for you (or anyone else) to stay on twitch, then by all means, stay! You are not a bad person for doing what is best for your survival and health. ❤️

There has been a lot of conversation about @stream.place lately, including a plethora of responses from the devs. Having read through many of their replies, I am still wary, but I would not write them off entirely. Tons of links to sources (mostly dev replies) have now been added to the doc!

This is fine and all, but there is plenty of data that proved long before this that we would not be happy with AI, including the thousands upon thousands of creators that spoke out against it ON TWITCH. Amazon already knew, and didn't listen - will they really listen if we click the button?
