New preprint! 🙌🏻 Conserved symbiosis genes shape root microbiomes across plant hosts, but not universally. Using Lotus and Hordeum mutants, we show that disruption of symbiosis signalling differentially alters root exudate chemistry and leads to distinct changes in root bacterial communities. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
