More poets, fewer fascists. AI artwork sucks.

It had to be a mistake, but today, September 27, I saw a Chicago city bus whose manifest read “SEASONS GREETINGS” with images of Santa in his sleigh, reindeer, and candy canes.

A lot has been made of Elizabeth Holmes’s admittedly unusual speaking voice, but watching the trailer for the upcoming Lance Oppenheimer doc about her I found Nathan Fielder’s voice so insufferably unlistenable that if I don’t watch the movie it will be because of him. His voice is worse than hers.

For 33 years, McConnell has voted against family and medical leave for working Americans. Then he disappears from the Senate for 92 days and keeps collecting his full paycheck. Apparently, paid leave is only a problem when someone else gets it.

It rained on me as I walked to work and a Scientologist started shit with me 50 steps from my office. The kind of day when sitting at my desk working will be an improvement.

On 9/11, my boss said “I know it’s a national tragedy, but you don’t get paid to surf the internet” as we desperately looked for information about if Chicago would be next while also in shock about New York.

It really sucks that collectively as a country we’ve spent most of the 25 years after 9/11 being the absolute worst versions of ourselves

No one is coming to save you. However, someone is coming to stand in front of what you want to look at in the grocery store

Happy 72nd Birthday to Ruby Bridges, who at the age of 6 desegregated the New Orleans public schools. She’s younger than 30 senators and our last two presidents—and only 7 years older than Barack Obama. The past isn’t past.

It’s finally occurred to me after watching umpteen dozen of her films that Isabelle Huppert may be my favorite actor. She could be in a student film washing dishes in silence and it would be worthwhile.

Fell asleep watching a movie; had intricate dream that the player kept spitting out the Blu-ray so I left and checked into a hotel to see if the room had a player the disc would work in. Rained & had traffic problems on way. Woke up in real life, movie was still playing, and I’d missed 30 minutes.
