Hollered At Racecars.

Mostly retired race track shill. Forty years a Caver. Ham radio operator (KZ4LR). Writer. Reader. Husband to Shelley and father to Bigfoot. Missing my beloved Cheezy, the Fearless Rat Killer. Defiant LGBTQ ally and radical leftist scum.
Recovering from bypass surgery. Had an impending ‘Widowmaker’ which required immediate intervention. Surgery was excellent, hospital staff were wonderful, recovery has been…glacial. 😔
A lovely gift from a good friend in racing…this is a replica of USAC and ARCA star Ramo Stott’s car, circa early 70s. It’s a slot car, so I suppose I could actually race it at a track just up the road, but it’s just too nice…
Our bird garden is attracting some non-avian visitors. And we’re okay with that. 😊
35 years ago, just before I almost made my wife a widow before we were even married.
34 years ago today. Another Saturday night show at Louisville Motor Speedway…but with an added attraction. And we are still married, and I still love her so. ❤️😊❤️
I’m sixty four years old and I should know better…but I just listened to Marillion’s “The Sky Above The Rain” just before bed, and I am heartbroken. Like I always am after hearing it. No sleep tonight.
Our hummingbird feeder has managed to capture a couple of early birds…only one happens to have been a chickadee. Probably complaining about the empty feeders in the bird garden. Sorry lads and ladies, I shall address it as soon as I can…
A few weeks after prostate surgery (with a side order of pulmonary embolisms), I got back into the woods. It was rather warm and I was so out of breath, but I did cover a hilly mile and saw some early blooming wildflowers. It’s good to be alive. 🙂
Best book of 2026 thus far. @cheriepriest.com has done it again. Finest haunted house tale since “The Family Plot” also the work of Cherie Priest. Also, Venita Rost becomes one of my favorite characters…a shame she likely won’t appear again…or, perhaps…
Christmas isn’t Christmas without books. And book ephemera, like a ‘Books Read’ scoreboard, and a bookmark that reads, ‘Fuck Off, I’m Reading’. Gee, I’m easy to buy for… 😊
If you know who this is, we’re probably already friends. 😊
Ahhhhhhh…the second Shocktober title has arrived. HUZZAH!
Got to get this one off the TBR before Shocktober begins. Really looking forward to it.
Cheezy waves goodbye. This will hurt for a very long time.
My beloved Cheezy is on his last legs. He can barely walk, will not eat, hasn't used his box in days, and is withering away. He does not act as if he is in any pain, but it's just awful watching this. I am debating with myself as to whether it might be time to help him across the Rainbow Bridge.
Were I ever to get a tattoo, it would have to be like this. DISCLAIMER: I was placed in speech therapy in grade school and this was one of my exercises. Never has this phrase been so damnably accurate. I see the ghosts again. Maybe I never stopped seeing them.
My father died this morning. My elderly kitty has not left me alone all day.
Good guy or villain, he was brilliant.
The Joy of Cats: Cheezy now does something I find sort of remarkable...now when he visits the sandbox, when he's done, he comes and summons me in my office to clean it up. While it's a bit presumptuous, at the same time is IS my job, so... 🙂
“Take my picture Dad. You know you want to.”
Cheezy and I are watching qualifying for Porsche Supercup in Monaco.
Beauty comes in many forms, and is sometimes found in the unlikeliest places.
