Lefty linguist plus other stuff. 🏳️‍🌈 I crochet a lot, knit a little, and talk about yarn. I love to pet cats. Sometimes I have purple hair and complain. Realistic but not into doomerism. I block repost-only accounts

Whenever I feel like responding to something stupid on social media, lately I've just been blocking them, even if it's a faceless 0 follower account, and it satisfies something within me

Omg SORRY, I got drunk and thought it would be normal to scroll through your posts and like every single one of them since 2019 (out of deep FRIENDSHIP) and anyway everything is fine now

I think there's also a sharp division among millennials about this, probably ethnicity is part of it, and certainly wealth and class. Like did you follow how your boomer parents did things and that you had to be a certain way to be considered an adult? Or

This, exactly...but this all feels very middle-class white American. Black folks have been having people over forever, in whatever space there was with whatever food there was. Some of these ideas about "ability" are rooted in self-consciousness about keeping up with the Joneses.

Sometimes I'm like, that business is so dumb and is run by dumb people but it makes money, why don't more randos make business that are just slightly better, and then I remember money. It's money.

I've been getting better at listening to audiobooks and while they are still not my preferred format for media, some books are better that way, and I'm trying to lean into that I tried and DNFd Andy Weir books, but the audiobooks have been very good so far.

Listen, these things can’t go “rogue”. It’s just a basic LLM stuck in a while loop. But this kind of attack is possible by doing something as simple as that, and that means that more people can set up programs to do terrible things like this moving forward on a whim.

"With the Education Department, OpenAI’s technology tried to hack the website to gather data from the department’s civil rights office" 👀 www.nytimes.com/2026/09/25/t...

You're like, oh I hit my macros, ahh my protein goals! and I drank water for the first time in three days because I finally remembered to, we are not the same. please, these health ads,,,

Majora's mask (The Leyend of Zelda) One random day my partner joked about me crocheting them a Majora's Mask. I took it personally and 30 seconds later I found this free pattern on deviantart and got to it. This took longer than anticipated, also bigger than I expected, but totally worth it 😏🧶

Crocheted "Majora's Mask" from the game "The Leyend of Zelda". In purple, red, white, yellow, green, black and blue. All details handsewn on.

The University near me got rid of...language depts. I don't even think it was a woke thing, I think the admin used the stupid sb 1 bill as an excuse to cut the humanities in general My friend is mid phD and her program...exists but was essentially dismantled by gutting the courses

“New students enrolling at the University of Texas at Austin can no longer major in studies focusing on Africans and the African diaspora, Mexican Americans and Latinos, or women and gender.” Puts a lot of “regain trust” rhetoric into proper relief.

Oh this. This is it. I think problems with AI are fundamentally about labor, theft, and the erasure of human dignity in domains where it is used, especially because of how it amplifies human bias. And that is just so different to rooting the problems in fear and awe of your horrible machine god.

the ai ceos calling for a slowdown because of agi is like when your friend who's really into conspiracy theories is like "and that's why the ruling elite is beholden to epstein" but then before you can agree, they add, "because of satanic rituals"

Also if it makes any new crochet 🧶 people feel better, I just had to re look up magic circle because my muscle memory failed me. I have made hundreds, maybe thousands of magic circles, but lately I've been favoring ch 3 as a start
