25 years ago, America suffered the worst terror attack in its history. Today, we mourn all those we lost on that horrific day, and we honor the countless acts of bravery and selflessness that followed — people running toward rubble and flames to save strangers in need. We will never forget.

Our hearts are with the victims of today’s horrific shooting in Minneapolis, including the law enforcement officers who sustained injuries. We’re grateful for the bravery of our first responders and their efforts to keep Minnesotans safe.

Today marks one year since the tragedy at Annunciation. One year since we lost Fletcher and Harper, since 26 children and 3 adults were injured in a horrific act of mass gun violence. One year later, we remember. We haven’t forgotten, and we hold onto our hope that things don’t have to be this way.

Minnesota stands with Maine as they experience the all-too familiar horror of ICE agents killing an innocent individual in their streets. This cannot keep happening. We’re sick of saying enough is enough. ICE’s unchecked terror in our communities must end.

Lorenzo Salgado Araujo did not deserve to die. There needs to be a full investigation into this killing, and ICE needs to be held accountable. This cannot keep happening.

The Minnesota House just adjourned for the year, and it ended with every Republican voting against bills to keep our communities safe from gun violence and hold ICE accountable. After the year our state has had, the GOP voted no. This session may be over, but our fight for Minnesotans is not.

BREAKING: We just passed critical legislation to save HCMC, the largest safety-net hospital in the state, from shutting down! The hospital was at risk of closing due to the Trump/GOP cuts to Medicaid. This is one of the biggest, most impactful policy victories of the YEAR. It's a BFD.

UNBELIEVABLE. Speaker Demuth is now hiding a major ICE accountability bill as well as the comprehensive gun package. Minnesotans deserve better than elected leaders who won't give them a straight answer. It's indefensible to see the harm done to Minnesotans in the last year, and look the other way.

An update from the Capitol: DFL legislators have now been holding the House floor for 12 hours straight. We've been here since last night, and we'll be here all the way until the Speaker gavels the House back into session. It's time for a vote on comprehensive gun violence prevention legislation.

Once again, Republicans have chosen the gun lobby over the safety and lives of Minnesotans. We aren’t done fighting. Not at all. But every Minnesotan deserves to know that every Republican just blocked comprehensive gun safety legislation.
