This may be one of the worst headlines I have ever read. “Found in rubble” erases who killed them. “Nearly a whole clan” turns parents, children, grandparents, aunts and cousins into a vague mass. “Mass funeral for 112” makes the burial, not the massacre, the story. Every word shields the killers.
I’ve now had several people involved in West Michigan politics that Hillary Scholten is polling to lose—flipping the seat red. So, maybe she’s just bitter. Checked out. Figuring out that first private sector check.

A big takeaway for a lot of Dems in 2024 was that Biden/Harris, as the incumbents, running on "things are good" when voters did not feel that way ended up hurting their vote. The GOP scolding their supporters and falling into the same trap will backfire on them.

AIPAC is the biggest source of Republican money in Democratic elections, and now they are making clear they will spend even more to defeat Democrats in November. They advocate for policies the vast majority of Democrats viscerally disagree with. No Democrat should be taking money from AIPAC.

The co-founder of the 2024 National Uncommitted Movement, Abbas Alawieh, decisively won his primary to become a State Senator in Michigan. Abbas was endorsed by both Bernie Sanders and Gretchen Whitmer. Abbas Alawieh also privately met with former VP Kamala Harris last month upon her request.

Donavan McKinney's win means that Detroit has a Black representative again. That's meaningful for a whole lot of folks. (And now certain ones can stop dreaming about taking back Rashida's seat, because that's not happening. LOL!)
I don't think I can remember a US politician with better messaging than this man. Ever. And that includes Mamdani. Run him for President.
The historic results last night are a testament to what we've known: Democrats win when we center the people. Democrats win when we fight for bold policies that go as broad and deep as the hurt our communities are facing. Democrats win when we don't moderate our aspirations.
