Huge thanks to Berryessa Union School District student volunteers and our partners at Subway and Martha’s Kitchen for making Merry Meals a success. Together we handed out fresh produce, non-perishables, and 400+ sandwiches. Leftovers went to the Senior Nutrition program at the Community Center.

Today we honored Eloy Rodriguez, a 20-year driver for California Waste Solutions, for his courageous actions on May 23. When his truck caught fire in Nola Ranch, he safely steered it away from danger. His quick thinking protected lives and property—thank you, Eloy!

Yesterday I visited Ms. Berliner’s AP Government classes at Independence High School. It was a pleasure taking questions from students and discussing what we do at City Hall and how we’re addressing larger issues at the state and federal levels. The future is in good hands with the next generation.
We’re saddened by the passing of Ray Hashimoto, a visionary who helped shape San Jose’s growth through major projects and civic leadership. His impact will be felt for generations.

Opening April 9, the Riverview Stormwater Garden will capture and filter runoff from all River Oaks storm drains, protecting the Guadalupe River. With walking paths, native plants, and green space, it’s a new spot for both sustainability and relaxation.
