🔭 OpenTelemetry 🔭

TIL, this is a key feautre in GitHub to ensure that coding agent and code review agent play along well. Works far better than asking them in their rules file to do so.

GitHub has a feature called "Require conversation resolution before merging", where wall conversations on code must be resolved before a pull request can be merged. This way two agents are forced to collaborate without telling them in a rule file they can ignore.

The TRACEPARENT environment variable is not only used in your CI/CD pipeline, a coding agent can use it to propagate context to your tools. Did a short video on it:-)

The OpenTelemetry Demo 3.0 is out, and yes, we broke it! In this blog post we share the highlights of what changed in the 3.0 release. And if you're a vendor using the Demo to showcase your OTel support, here's your call to action: Please update your instructions. buff.ly/gSt6uFX

We broke the OTel demo

If you’ve been running the Demo for some time, you may have seen a couple of structural changes lately, and you may even have gotten mad about things not working as expected. We feel your pain and we…

I made an observation the other day, that many open source repositories provide an AGENTS(dot)md, but not something equivalent for humans. I wrote about it, and came to the conclusion that, there is no need for HUMANS(dot)md svrnm.com/blog/humans....

No need for HUMANS.md

A while back I was exploring an open source project I was using, and interested in contributing to, as it provided capabilities I needed but missed some additional ones I wanted to have. Naturally, I ...

A lab and a blog post about turning traces into helpful insights about your SQL queries: something I worked on for the last few weeks is finally published on the Causely blog and on GitHub, for you to use and copy:-)

Slow SQL queries degrade UX & reliability. This guide shows how to distill #OpenTelemetry DB spans into actionable metrics: build span-derived slow-query dashboards, rank queries by traffic impact, and detect regressions with anomaly baselines. Lab included. www.causely.ai/blog/how-to-...

See how Causely continuously builds an always-on service graph (services, infra, and data flows) and combines it with traces, metrics, and logs to pinpoint the exact regression, its blast radius, and the causal path — with clear, explainable reasoning in seconds.
