I don't know how accurate these numbers are but I'm hearing that upwards of 450,000 acres have been burned or are burning across Eastern Washington State with at least 6 major fires in addition to the Spokane blaze. This is unreal.

people who aren't from here don't understand that central and eastern washington have a SEMI-ARID climate. it's not at all like the rainy western part of the state (and we have fires there, too). the east side of the cascades is a tinderbox in the summer. from cnn yesterday:

Bob Ferguson implemented a statewide state of emergency and burn ban Saturday morning as the National Weather Service issued a Particularly Dangerous Situation Red Flag Warning across Central and Eastern Washington – a rare designation reserved for the most severe fire weather conditions. This marks the first time the weather service has issued such a warning in Washington, meaning “new fires can grow out of control rapidly, our aircraft response may be limited by wind and smoke, and our already taxed wild land firefighters will be in more dangerous conditions,” the Washington Department of Natural Resources said.

From Capital One motion to dismiss Trump Org debanking lawsuit: The SAC concedes that Capital One's decision to terminate the accounts was expressly permitted by the governing agreement and instead rests on vague allegations of political discrimination that are not supported by any of the documents attached to the SAC. To the contrary, those documents and Plaintiffs' own allegations make clear that Capital One closed Plaintiffs' accounts for anti-money laundering ("AML") reasons. The closures were the result of months of analysis and a careful review by Capital One's AML team in accordance with bank policies and regulatory guidance. Capital One never publicized the termination decision nor its Because portions of the Second Amended Complaint and its exhibits are currently sealed, counsel for Capital One provided a copy of this Motion to Dismiss to Plaintiffs' counsel for review prior to filing. Plaintiffs' counsel confirmed that they had no proposed redactions to the Motion. 1 Case 1:25-cv-21596-RKA Document 91 Entered on FLSD Docket 07/31/2026 Page 4 of 23 confidential internal process giving rise to the closure, and it permitted Plaintiffs several months (and granted several extensions) to find new banking services, which they did. As the SAC makes plain, Plaintiffs cannot meaningfully criticize the robust process undertaken by Capital One's AML professionals with decades of law enforcement experience in deciding to close the accounts. Instead, Plaintiffs attempt to keep their misguided allegations of political discrimination alive by speculating that Capital One's anti-money laundering concerns were pretextual and claiming that Plaintiffs were somehow "misled" by the contractually- permitted closure decision. But these new theories are based on cherry-picked quotations unsupported by the full context of the documents Plaintiffs cite and are, in any event, unnecessary for this Court to consider at the pleading stage because Plaintiffs' claims fail as a matter of …
