Really as great as everyone said. There’s a quote on cover that compares Garner to Virginia Woolf & I think there’s definitely something in that. There’s a real economy of writing too & an unsettling slipperiness about it. 📕 🇦🇺

An announcement: I was hoping to add Gentle the Horse to my gallery of extended Willoughverse Bluesky quadrupeds, but discovered yesterday that she has passed on. She had a long rich life though.

Time has been very kind to Madness's 'Take It or Leave It' film, just restored by the BFI. Part biopic, part North London hangout film, it's a charming look at life in early 80s, still fairly squalid, Camden, & the Nutty Boys exude a natural likeability. Full band concert performances thrilling.
