PRODUCTION DESIGNER: Here are a few options for the Sorting Hat. WB: DON’T CHANGE THE SORTING HAT. PRODUCTION DESIGNER: No I get that it all still has to look like the place in Florida you know writ large, but I thought we could like maybe tweak like the brim on this one prop? WB: THE HAT STAYS.

The fact that SCTV just dropped on Netflix in the US means that millions of callow American youths (read: under 50s) will soon discover Libby Wolfson’s “I’m Takin’ My Own Head, Screwin’ It On Right, And No Guy’s Gonna Tell Me That It Ain’t.”

There should be a Sniffies but instead of hooking up it just shows you how many folks also watching, at that moment, Elaine Stritch: At Liberty in your like zip code or whatever. It would be heartwarming. It would be community. Without the awkwardness and cleanup.

Some tech glitches w/my Morning Edition remembrance of Tim Curry, but listeners got to hear the clips I chose: “I’ll get you a Satanic mechanic.” “Mother Night!! Fold your dark arms about me!” “And monkey’s brains, while popular in Cantonese cuisine, are not often to be found in Washington, DC!”

Watching my fellow comics nerds confidently asserting that their favorite deep-cut Green Lantern storylines and characters are 1. obviously being hinted at in LANTERNS and 2. will surely be revealed in upcoming episodes is … odd.

Optimist: The glass is half full. Pessimist: The glass is half empty. Philip Glass: half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half half

The pro-shot SIX is in theaters this weekend, and the local Alamo listed it then dropped it, then the local sad mall theater listed it then dropped it, so we had to drive an hour towards the city to see it and it was great and Alexia McIntosh (Anna of Cleves) is charisma distilled it is essence.

Out at a bar in our rural Virginia town I got the “You don’t seem gay” thing, which I’ve gotten all my life. I used to be proud of that. It was all I wanted. Because I was broken. The affect you’re picking up on is just the militant self-consciousness of not wanting to be gay.

Bless my soul! Hercule’s on a roll! Prob’ly goes on grindr to show off his pole n’ hole! What a pro Herc could stop a show Just ignore what Christie’s novels have to say though He’s now a fuckboi Oh boy oh boy ‘Stache is a sextoy So coy so coy

Somewhere in this blasted, desiccated, wind-whipped, raw-boned, godforsaken country there is a karaoke bar stocked with the entire Crazy Ex-Girlfriend oeuvre. That is where you will find me, an inveterate karaoke-hater, belting “The Moment is Me” to the best of my ability, which is negligible.

LANTERNS is a much better/smarter show than you’re likely expecting. Clever plotting that plants seeds subtly. Dialogue that works through tacit implication instead of plodding exposition. There’s a lot of first-draft TV writing these days. This show feels like it’s been worked over, honed.

Saw two bros out drinkin’ and couldn’t figure out their deal then one of them said “We have a Project Runway waiting” and the other one did clappy hands and now I have figured out the sum, the whole, the entirety of their deal.

To whom do I complain about the amount and obnoxiousness of pop-ups on fan-made wikis? Because there are a lot of pop-ups on fan-made wikis. And they are obnoxious. But it also feels like something that is not worth complaining about. Because it doesn’t remotely matter. The human condition.

So lookit the knotty pine came with the house. We’re stuck with it for now, but it will change. (And yes, I do quote AHS Jessica Lange in re: knotty pine, often. Incessantly. F finds it hilarious every time. He’s not sick of it at all.) Anyway not the point. The point is THIS inquisitive bitch.

Future historians,,looking back on this era of social media, will ask themselves: Who was V? Why did they step into the crowd to take in live performances at Vogue World: Hollywood?
