This is something you cannot repeat enough: what makes America so much more unequal than European countries isn't the wealth held by billionaires (Europe has those too). It is the wealth held by the upper echelon of the professional classes. Lawyers, doctors, even some journalists...

Lukewarm take: I feel a lot of pessimism about the present is built on not realizing just how bad the past was. Like if you just read a book about poverty in a first-world country in the 1950s it's staggeringly worse than now.
This spam network consist of at least 24 accounts (and probably far more), each of which (with the exception of two extremely new accounts) began following liberal and left-leaning Bluesky users en masse after a gap in activity of at least half a year.
For over a year, an unknown entity has been hijacking Bluesky accounts and incorporating them into a spam network that follows real users while serving up a mix of political posts, news links, and plagiarized photos. In recent months, some of the spam accounts' posts have started to go viral.
That's a lot of text to say "oh yes it's awful isn't it, someone (not us) should definitely do something about it"
