Bay Area friends: would you consider opening your home to these two cuddly cats? A friend found them behind a gas station. Their sibling, a black cat, got adopted, but it appears no one likes orange cats. They are being kept in a bathroom for the time being and need a home.

A friend of mine found these three kittens behind a Bay Area gas station. They are tame, vaccinated, and incredibly affectionate. Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?

Despite all the accusations of crimes and cover-ups, the Trump admin has never actually prosecuted or jailed anyone. The supposed stolen 2020 election, Jan 6 deep state, Dr Fauci, etc. All of its is just theater for the base, revving them up. In the end, will undermine faith in gov and institutions.

I can't speak to issues like humanitarian aid, but I can say with certainty that Elon's DOGE cuts impacted watchdogs such as the Worker Rights Consortium (WRC). Let me tell you about it. 🧵

Putting up trade barriers for things made with forced labor is good, but this is likely an attempt to circumvent the Supreme Court's ruling on Trump's tariffs. Trump has also slashed funding for watchdogs like WRC, which hampers our ability to know when there are labor abuses in our supply chains.

A BBC headline says: US imposes tariffs on dozens of trade partners over "forced labor" imports. The article was published today and written by Michael Race, Francisco Velasquez, and Jemma Crew.

Excited to announce I started a podcast with my friend @trufelman.bsky.social, where we read classic philosophical works and discuss what they can teach us about why we buy, wear, and value the things we do. It’s basically a podcast for people who love clothes, books, and big ideas.

The CDC is so underfunded now that it's like: "Just remove the three outer layers of lettuce, so you don't consume any feces, then wash each interior leaf individually, so you remove any hidden feces. Good luck!"

I don't know anything about womenswear, but I stumbled upon Caleigh O'Donnell's Instagram last year and find her content to be very thoughtful and substantive. Goes beyond "here's how to look cool" or "everyone needs this" cliches. Many frameworks can be applied to menswear. IG itscalbal

I've never said "X" in real life. As a writer, I only use it to say "X, the platform formerly known as Twitter" because I get paid per word and this earns me enough money for an appetizer

Someone on Twitter writes: "When was the last time u called it 'Twitter'"

They've attached two images: one is the original Twitter bird logo; the other is the new X logo

Hard to dress well in the summer, but I like how men dressed in Greece, Vietnam, and Cuba during the 1950s/ 60s. Many had camp collar shirts with two pockets. When a shirt is made from a thin, sheer fabric, having two chest pockets serves two purposes: carry things and prevent you from feeling nude.

Probably a bad idea to wrap your face and body in slim-fit clothing on a day with 101 degree heat. Especially if the garments are made from tightly woven cotton or certain synthetics.

Not true. In their list of grievances, the Founding Fathers complained that King George III was blocking colonial laws that would promote immigration and make it easier for foreign settlers to become citizens.

Reuters tweeted: "Pope Leo urged Americans to uphold the ideals of the Declaration of Independence, praising the country's long tradition of welcoming immigrants in his first major address to the United States." They then attached a video of the Pope speaking.

Someone named NoraNH replied: "The Declaration of Independence doesn’t mention immigrants"The Declaration of Independence. He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

Astaire's tailoring is so good in Daddy Long Legs (1955). It's said that he used to dance, jump, and twirl in his tailor's fitting room to make sure the his jacket's collar never lifted off his neck. To me, he embodied American elegance.

Saw some people wistful for this tradition, but there's no reason to feel low. These women are engaged in a process known as waulking, in which weavers soak freshly woven tweed in vats of stale urine. Then they beat the cloth until it softens and shrinks. The work songs help keep rhythm. 🧵
