This is a much kinder and USEFUL way to figure out what’s going on! Reframing your self-judgement as non-loaded curiosity-based questions gives you a MUCH better place to actually move forward. And yes! In this case, it‘s usually is because other needs are being neglected!! (Small 🧵)

Stop berating yourself for not drawing and instead start asking, "Why is it hard to show up for my art right now?" You start to realize sustainability depends on meeting your own needs FIRST instead of forcing endless drawing because the internet said it's the only way.

drawing for fun, internal fulfillment is very different from drawing for money or your livelihood advice that works for one is incredibly detrimental to the other, and I wish more people understood this before shaming different types of advice/hard truths
