The day after @ahoy.eu in Hamburg, Germany, we hosted a day of discussions about #IndieSky: running independent ATProto infrastructure. The morning was a walk through and knowledge sharing about the composable protocol architecture, and the afternoon went through what a EuroStack would include.

The Bluesky Jetstream is great - and we just made it better. Introducing the Graze Turbostream, an enriched Jetstream that includes *all* stale referenced objects, and completely skips the need for redundant hydration API calls!
After today's session, I created a simplified atproto diagram just for me. Maybe it's useful to somebody. Feel free to comment if you spot errors. Getting the arrows right is the hardest part 😂
agency is not static or binary, it's an ongoing *collective* process. that's what EU #indiesky day felt like today. thanks @bmann.ca @knowtheory.net @skorfmann.com for making it happen 💙

Some random conf notes: Christine and Nicolas were doing an excellent job interviewing, though they did not know anything about ATproto etc.. Laurens relentlessly pushed through the longer interviews. On the negative side, we had some technical difficulty getting the slides into the stream. #ahoy25
Just winding down from a long but energizing day at #ahoy25 -- thank you so much to the whole @ahoy.eu team for putting this on. We're back at the same space tomorrow for #IndieSky! Listed start time is 10am, doors open 9am~ish, we know some people need to leave after lunch.

So grateful I was invited at @ahoy.eu to talk about power concentrations in the ATmosphere! In my talk I tried to make clear there is no social media without conflict, but we need to build democratic institutions to balance between feudalism and social norm conflict exhaustion.
