Black autistic people are allowed to have something for ourselves just so you know just because autistic spaces were originally ‘white’ spaces doesn’t mean autism belongs to white people 🫠 The white fragility I’ve been seeing when it comes to Black autistic people taking up space is kinda insane
Here they go 🙄It doesn't ‘work’ differently, but the experience of being autistic can. Race can affect how autistic traits are perceived, who gets recognized or diagnosed, who gets DEMONIZED and what kinds of support someone receives.

We all know that they're being racist, and that they just cannot handle the concept of intersectionality. These people really are just attached to their privilege aren't they ?
You can be proud to be white and autistic without using that pride to invalidate someone else's Black autistic identity 🙄

This "I'm autistic, white and proud" comment was harmful & mf ignorant because it dismisses the very real racial disparities

A few white led orgs were trying to convince us to have this observance in April, basically saying that’s the only way they would support I will share more soon, white led orgs policing Black led initiatives is a big problem Black autistic people do not need your permission or approval 👌🏽

Today marks the 61st anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. Signed into law on August 6, 1965, it got rid of literacy tests, poll taxes in federal elections, and other barriers that kept people from voting. The law helped lead to a major increase in Black voter registration
