Hark! A thread of comics I've been borrowing from the library! (Shout out @stlpubliclibrary.bsky.social) 1. IN UTERO by chrisgooch44.bsky.social. Such a well-executed tale about friendship and self-discovery. Also has maybe the first-ever body horror imagery that's oddly satisfying to look at??

Wanted to share some fun logo work I did for a local business owner friend! Would love to do more like this.

Another note on SFX: The thing or action making the sound should be shown in the panel with the SFX! Like, if you have photography SFX in a panel ("POP" "FLASH"), ya gotta show that camera doing the thing. Either that, or show the source of the sound in a subsequent panel, like this.

Comic writers of Bluesky, do us letterers a solid, instead of just generalised SFX notes like Insert laser noises here, can you give us the onomateopia that you want for your book please? It can avoid people, such as myself, sitting here for 15 minutes making assorted laser noises & sounding crazy.

Comics freelancers: How do we feel about publishers' typical net-30 payment terms? AFAIK, many of us aren't paid anything up front and don't have much negotiating power. It's frustrating, considering the small-press and individual creators I work with usually pay within a week of invoice!

Comics people! What's your preferred way to show whispering/quiet talking? I tend toward small text in a regular-sized balloon, with added italics on a case-by-case basis. But sometimes I'll mess with opacity.
