Brentsville District High School's agriculture program will soon expand its growing season and create new hands-on learning opportunities thanks to a $5,000 grant from Sprouts Farmers Market to install a hoop house.

Forest Park High School's FCCLA chapter has received an $8,000 Lead4Change grant to expand Roots of a Bruin, a student mentoring partnership with Ashland Elementary School that uses gardening, culinary education, and leadership development to connect high school and elementary students.

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources has recognized 35 PWCS schools with Virginia Naturally designation for the 2025-26 school year, an increase of five schools from the previous year.

The Virginia Association for Teachers of Family and Consumer Sciences recognized three PWCS staff members at the 2026 VATFACS Professional Development Institute.

Participate Learning has recognized Merissa Daley, a third-grade teacher at Occoquan Elementary School, and Virginia Ormero Gonzalez, a Spanish teacher at Marsteller Middle School, as recipients of the 2026 Participate Learning Teachers of the Year Award.
