On this day in 1904, William Hall died in Avonport, NS. During the Siege of Lucknow in 1857, he distinguished himself as a member of the Royal Navy and earned the Victoria Cross for his bravery. He was the first Black person and first Nova Scotian to receive the medal. 📸 LAC

The game we chose from 2025 is Prelude to Leipzig. Even though we've mostly moved onto other things, we still like to do a hex-and-counter game, especially if it's designed by John Theissen. This is the tenth of his games we've published.

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.

To comply with the EU AI Act, Anthropic will now watermark text and photos created by Claude and digitally sign files it creates to indicate they were generated by AI. So going forward text generated by Claude will be detectable as generated by AI programmatically.
