Are you tired of having to double take everything you see online because it might be fake AI slop? Get ready to double take your own photos because they may be fake AI slop.
Twitch's "Allow your channel content to train generative AI models" setting is here and on by default. Go turn that shit off, streamer!! The toggle is under your Settings, then 'Security and Privacy'
"But there is no honour for the humanities in regaining their standing through the attention of AI companies, if they engage only on the technology industry’s terms. In that case, they will have become important in exactly the wrong way." www.ft.com/content/bdb3...
Why this philosopher turned down Anthropic
The AI industry is courting the humanities — but it is asking the wrong questions

A #xenoblade timelapse. Originally a request doodle…you can watch me struggle to draw a single body for an entire minute that was actually 5 thousand real time hours
Great article from The Cut people admitting their struggling is a taboo on social media. We are all conditioned in the US to internalize our livelihood are our fault. Never mind the fact our lives are the result of oppressive systems across race, class, etc that moves like a well oiled machine
On social media, a broad consensus is that you can’t admit to struggle — at least not while you’re struggling. Doing so represents a failure so profound it’s almost existential. How did it become mandatory to demonstrate perpetual growth and progress online?
Every now and then someone takes a run at me along the lines of "I don't understand why you, a scifi writer, don't appreciate 'AI'," and I'm all, motherfucker, it's *because* I'm a science fiction writer I have the positions I have, how many times do we have to fucking yell "torment nexus," my dude
A lot of people have used the argument that AI is here to stay so I should accept it as a tool in my life. If you accept destruction in the world because it is already here don’t be surprised when you face the consequences of that destruction.
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
"As Japanese financial newspaper Nikkei Asia found in a recent investigation, just five US tech giants — Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle — are hiding an estimated $1.65 trillion in debt that doesn’t appear on balance sheets. futurism.com/artificial-i...
Here it is. The profanation of humanity in the name of algorithmic efficiency.

I come back to this tumblr post again and again
Nobody wants predictive data models to stop working for the people in medicine. Or translating ancient Pompeii texts. Or the other ways we were already using it. We want it to stop replacing workers, killing the environment, and stealing from artists. Hope that clarifies.
I've been working hard on my new comic #PΩMA since the start of the year - will be posting some sneak peaks over the coming weeks
It's not enough to be against AI, you need to be pro art. You need to be a champion of the art you love, you need to share that passion and joy, and do what you can to support the artists who make it, because it's not enough to hate AI, to hate what it's doing to art and media; you gotta love.
It's 2AM anyway I think everyone should look at my OCs being cute again :]
Secret Meeting || a scene close to the end of my story :] After Lumiere (braid guy) catches Xielir sneaking out at night, they finally have a heart to heart underneath the stars and confess their feelings at last #art #comic #ocsky #bskyart
