vibe-free lifestyle and smiling apple purveyor@ellaguro.bsky.social · 6d agoall this GTA VI stuff is just driving home again that people still broadly think videogames are an unimportant medium that is mostly there for stimulation or to alleviate boredom, and we're still kind of expected to placate this belief because saying "no" to it makes you look like a weirdo freak.

This is a difficult watch. Monty switches between talking about a computer game and also real-world extremism and the way we talk about both. It's full of friction and discomfort, especially when he reads the comments he's received. Masterfully put together, by one of the best in the game.

YES! Philosophy Friday is still on tomorrow. I have some issues with this book, but he does great describing specific *kinds* of marxists and socialists, their actual proposals for governing, and how they'd solve recurring issues with capitalism. So if that sounds interesting, swing by!

the thing about indie games is that if someone designs one single game I love, I’ll get whatever they make for the rest of their lives and pretty much always have a good time. people are so attached to ip but imo you really gotta know the creators.
