Soil saturdated in North and parts of West but 90mm off in Carlow and longer range ensembles don’t show much rain for Southeast for next 10 days. Not good news for food production.

Still uncertainty around how much rain we see over the weekend but most models have eased off on the totals. Bad news for land in Carlow where soil moisture deficit is at 90mm after we missed most of the recent rainfall.
Few people asking reports of very poor air quality in Cork on some apps but it looks to be an issue with those apps as the EPA stations reporting normal readings:
Feeling a lot fresher in Ireland on Wednesday with cool and less humid air over us. Hot weather into Southern and parts of Central Europe. A mix of sunny spells and showers for Ireland with strong breeze Wednesday and West in Donegal.
Wet and windy in Donegal tonight and Wednesday but other areas will see scattered showers with low rainfall totals.
More thunderstorms in Northeast with scattered heavy showers moving East.

Thunderstorms in parts of West and North Midlands this morning. Less than 4mm of rain at my station yesterday as rainfall amounts varied a lot. A mixed few days ahead with scattered showers and sunny spells.
Still over 20c Tuesday but turning cooler with sunny spells and showers. Trends show it possibly warming back up again at end of week. Rainfall amounts will vary a lot across the country. Coming weekend details are uncertain at present with Saturday highest risk of showers.

Met Éireann have issued a yellow rainfall warning for Wexford and Wicklow this evening with risk of thundery downpours. It feels like it has been a long time since we had a rainfall warning!
A very mixed morning and day ahead with heavy showers and sunny spells. Latest rainfall totals ensembles show over 5mm for most areas over next 24 hours with over 10mm in East and Southeast and possibly over 20mm locally.

Lots of people asking if there is any sign of another heatwave? At present the answer is no. It will be over 20c for many on Monday and Tuesday then drop back again from Wednesday.

The rain has returned as latest radar shows but very small amounts so far. Cloud has reached most areas and around 15c this morning.

A low of 4.8c at my station this morning with a nice fresh Friday morning for many but some showers in Northern areas. Mix of cloud and sunny spells for most today. Latest high resolution weather model chart shows very little rain up to 4pm Sunday.
The ECMWF ensembles continue to show very little rainfall for Southeast. Some showers likely but amounts look pretty low, not good for the land.
The drought continues in Carlow the potential archeology find in a field near me is even clearer now.
