Still in virtual Birmingham today where the lovely shiny New Station roof also gives some weird reflection opportunities!

A benefit of not being able to get away just now is I have at last sorted my website! lornabphotos.myportfolio.com While on my ongoing virtual tour I’m in Birmingham for some canal reflections today.
Our annual exhibition is now open in Chichester! Nearly 300 prints by over 40 photographers many of us award winners, in a great variety of styles. A digital display too, and with home made cakes, tea and coffee, plenty to enjoy. At the Assembly Room all next week - come along and say hello!
2027 Lake District Calendar I am delighted to announce that my 2027 A3 Lake District calendar is now available. Includes 12 stunning images of the Lake District, featuring my IGPOTY winner 'Grange Fell last Light' on the front cover and August. Get yours here: markhetherington.com

Just reposting this as I'd omited the #sharemondays2026 tag I really enjoy all four of these very different images, but I'm picking @ianbarnesphotos.bsky.social with this intriguing mono and it's crisp blacks and whites for my winner this week. Congratulations Ian and over to you!

Choosing my top four for this week's #sharemondays2026 has been quite a challenge! They are @markhether18.bsky.social @z70photo.bsky.social @iceniphoto.bsky.social @ianbarnesphotos.bsky.social Now for the really hard bit - choosing the winner
When the quiet Hebrides are a memory and even the nearby Downs and coast are a bit tricky, there’s always the kitchen and the garden! Time to try out some #cyanolumens with expired photo paper. Interesting experiments with a lustrous finish cyanotypes don’t have. #cameralessphotography
I confess I got rather over excited when I found out I’d won a gold medal for a print of this at the 162nd Edinburgh International Photography Exhibition! It will be shown (with my two other accepted prints) during the Edinburgh Festivals. #creativephotography
As we can’t get away just now 😢 I’m having a virtual tour via my catalogue, weeding and reworking. Stopping off here by Ullswater. #lakedistrict #landscapephotography
We’ve had to cancel our planned trip to South Uist and the stop off in the Lakes on the way. So it’s one from the catalogue instead - the lovely Blea Tarn with a nice touch of light. #Lakedistrict #Landscapephotography
The cascades at Cray in Wharfedale for today’s #waterfallwednesday #yorkshiredales #landscapephotography
Very pleased to have two prints accepted for the prestigious London Salon of Photography. This one is from Camp Sheep Fair in Co Kerry. The exhibition moves between Smethwick, London and Edinburgh from June to December.
The lovely Blasket Isles off Kerry for St Patrick’s Day. Can you see the sleeping giant?
I’ve not posted for #flowersonfriday for a while, so here’s some cheery dahlias to brighten a very dreary day #dahlias
It’s been rather non-stop here but I did get out one fabulous morning last month and caught this lovely moment. #landscapephotography #southdowns #sussex
Lots of interest in the Old Gang Smelt Mill just now, with Wuthering Heights. I do enjoy industrial ruins and what they can tell us, but last visit also caught a grouse shoot lunch stop off there, never seen so many 4by4s in one place before. #yorkshiredales
Good to see my set of abstracts from the Dungeness Sound mirrors on display at our North Mundham exhibition - one of my three panels. Great weekend we’re having here! #fineartphotography #exhibitions
That’s one of my three panels ready for our exhibition this weekend, I really enjoyed constructing this! North Mundham Village Centre, PO20 1LA, prints from 33 exhibitors in all genres with lunches and home made cakes too. Drop in and say hello! #creativephotography
It’s three weeks now until the first of our three exhibitions held each year - we’re just south of Chichester with great images, cakes, lunches and photo enthusiasts to chat too. If you’re our way come and say hello! #photography #exhibitions
I was pleased with a sweet pea image made with this technique but found other flowers didn’t work so well. I’m happy with these poppies tho’ it’s a long way from ‘get in right in the camera’! #fineartphotography #poppies
