The union is far from perfect. But at the end of the day, the union is at least the PLAYERS. The ones you watch. The ones baseball can’t happen without. The owners? This shit is what they care about. Balance sheets, equity, profit, liquidity. Why manufacture consent for that?

They are going to enshittify every single aspect of baseball — through gambling, private equity, AI slop, and god only knows what else — until there is nothing left. And you want to kneecap the players union, the only thing standing between them and total control over MLB

@CPTowers I think the issue is that people don’t have a great grasp on how revenue sharing works to begin with, and just how much the Dodgers are already floating many small market teams by paying nearly $200m out in revenue sharing annually

given how many fans seem obsessed with their McCourt bankruptcy TV exemption, it's probably worth making a part 2 of this episode. we will cook that up at some point in the near future!
