Team USA did a really good job establishing the post early. As much as they mixed lineups you see finding a rhythm for both Stewie and Phee within those. Guards have done their job around it with drives and cuts. Getting into stuff quicker more often has helped.

Much more decisive start from Team USA on offense. Established the post, quick(er) decisions against zone. Doubles have opened up kicks to the perimeter. On the flip side they are giving up dribble penetration left and right early.

Immediate theme from the first possession: doubling in the post. Team USA worked to get to Stewie and Phee and CZE was there right away (also did it vs. China). Also another night where a team is rotating to meet drives before they hit the paint.

The ideal is everyone plays well and you deliver a wave of talent that's hard to deal with. Find the right groups who compliment each other. Have enough room to highlight the talent and run what works for them. Mix and match based on what you need.

It is a little funny to scroll and see lineup talk and watch France and there's a minute left in the 1st and Carla Leite is just making her first appearance in the game. After dealing with Lacan, Marine and Astier.

Real grind it out, figure it out, find a way type of hoops for Team USA. Just my type. Pick and roll, drive and kick, post ups, finishing, none of it has been there. Just have to keep working to unlock something.

I mean you can warm up that lineup discourse machine if you want, Team USA as a whole has to handle the physicality and get Italy to not defend with this level of conviction. Find a pressure point. Level of confidence is different now.

Phee picked up her third foul, Team USA went with Howard at the 4. Italy went ahead and looked to post her up twice. Also feels like they are looking to put their head down and drive. Key sequence here.

Team USA has to cut down on the turnovers and get into their actions quicker especially when Italy starts out in zone. Italy can't have the ability to bog them down at the start. Keep mixing in post ups, keep moving it. Drive and kick not as automatic.

Italy's been more physical vs. Team USA's drives. Have been able to stay at home, have worked to meet drives in the paint with a hit. Team USA has to find that balance and flow on offense.

Keeping an eye on Team USA's pick and roll defense. Have been in drop, have mixed in late switches, have had success. Moments where Italy has turned the corner, moments where they have hit a big rolling or late. Have to be clean with Zandalasini rolling.
