Fantastic turnaround in GP training, with 20% more doctors training as GPs than last year. GP is back. But like I've been saying, it's green shoots - we can't be complacent. Government, unis, and we need to make sure there are GPs for every community. 1/

Managed to sneak in a swim in the Indian Ocean before conferencing tomorrow. It was WARM! Not a pretty photo, but you can see how much I enjoyed it.

Tomorrow I’ll be discussing the 2023 Practitioner’s Toolkit for Managing Menopause with colleagues at #GP24.

Looking forward to meeting colleagues at the GP24 conference in Perth. There will be academic and clinical sessions, and plenty of discussion about the future of general practice. A healthy general practice sector is vital for the health of Australians.

On our flight from Hobart to Perth we played blu tac scrabble. My friend made a perfect replica including the correct letters. It was great (apart from the fact that I lost).

Hi! A bit about me. I am a GP in Hobart. I’ve been interested in menopause since it was very unfashionable. Trying to understand the research around MHT led me to the Australasian Menopause Society where I have learned from academics and clinicians. I was elected president from 2020-22.

Reflecting on so many fascinating presentations from the World Menopause Congress in Melbourne recently. One unifying theme that came out was the importance of exercise. For mental health, sleep, muscle and bone health, cognition, vascular health, cancer risk.
