I'm a musician — a singer/songwriter, producer, guitar player, and photographer; a troubadour with a driver's license and a camera, and ⅓ of 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘰 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴. I'm a professional driver who plays music at night. https://linktr.ee/StephenFearing

My first (?) album review and interview w/The Province’s legendary music critic Tom Harrison. The 8 wk tour mentioned saw me drive my old Datsun 510 wagon all the way to Montreal (a gig at Foufounes Electrique) and back. I remember I bought a sheepskin at IKEA to make the seat more comfortable…

Back again with Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and our pal Tony Crea on sound at Four Winds Festival in Durham, ON this past weekend. Soundcheck and performance at with Coliln Linden, Tom Wilson, John Dymond, and Gary Craig.

Stayed in Præesto, Denmark for a few days and visited Fanefjord Kirke (parts date to the mid 1200’s). C. 1535, King Christian III adopted Lutheranism, dissolved the Catholic Church, and whitewashed over these weird and wonderful paintings. Rediscovered in 1927, they've been painstakingly restored.

The Blackie & The Rodeo Kings show was a gas at The PNE for the FIFA FanFest. Great to be back in the van with my hairy brethren and even better to be joined onstage for a few songs by the mighty Colin James - the man is a human dynamo. 📷 Soundchecking

More pictures from Stirling, Scotland. Whilst walking about, we noticed that many of the doorways had carvings above them - a form of early advertising. “The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker…”

Nov 18/19 Aeolian Hall, Nov 20th Danforth Music Hall: Blackie and The Rodeo Kings ride again and this time the tapes will be rolling. Come join us for three nights of live recording. These pictures go way back and so will the setlist. Come and join us in person and on tape. Tix through the venues.

A few shots from the final show of the tour in Roskilde. Once the capital of Denmark, Roskilde is now famous for many things including “Gimle” our last venue of the run - an old water tower! (I think) After more 6 weeks away, I'm finally home to my own bed, family, and a dog excited to see me again

My last stop in Edinburgh was the “Ox” - The Oxford bar, one of many places where fiction and reality intertwine. The Ox is Inspector Rebus’ watering hole, where he goes to sit quietly and listen to the gossip. Now in Denmark and the last leg of this tour, rejoining The Sentimentals. More to follow.

More from Scotland! Faces and grotesques in stone and plaster: Walter Scott’s house “Abbotsford” in the border country. A few more days here before I head off to Denmark for a few more shows with The Sentimentals.

The England tour with The Sentimentals was wonderful! Great venues and great craic... and then suddenly, I'm in Scotland with Scotland Folk Tours. 📷 Stirling: William Wallace’s monument, Stirling Castle and grounds

I'm off to Manchester tomorrow and the England tour with The Sentimentals kicks off on Wednesday. Ireland was wonderful, as always. I'll leave you with the stark beauty of Ennistymon, Poulnabrone Dolmen, and The Burren, Co. Clare, - always a joy to photograph.

During and after the CFMAs Friday Night Gala awards which I hosted with my wonderful new friend Jocelyn Pettit. We played a few songs, (mostly) stuck to the script and had a grand old time. Many thanks to Lorand Szasz @lorandphoto who took all these shots and the CFMAs for inviting me.

Had a great time in Calgary at the CFMAs. Congratulations to Julian Taylor on winning Contemporary Singer of the Year. It was wonderful duetting with Terra Spencer on night 1 and co-hosting & duetting with Jocelyn Pettit on night 2. Thanks for having me!

I hope you had a great long weekend! Here's what I'm up to this beautiful spring. If you are going to be at the Canadian Folk Music Awards this week or in Ireland at the end of the month, let me know! For UK dates, May 6 - 11, see my website for details and ticket links. See you out there!

Blue Line: My 2nd release came out in 1990 on New Routes/Rough Trade in the UK. Produced by Clive Gregson at IdealSound Recorders in Finsbury Park & recorded in a week it was a baptism by fire. Re-released in Canada in ’91 this album is the beginning of my relationship with True North Records.

This is my promo shot from 40 years ago, post-Expo ‘86. I became the “house band” for the newly formed Rogue Folk Club in Vancouver and shortly thereafter released my first self titled cassette album. It all started here… look at that young fellah.
