MP proudly serving Worthing West ❤️
I’m incredibly proud that #Worthing is leading the way on lowering carbon emissions through our pioneering Heat Network. Yesterday I asked Martin McCluskey, Minister at the Dept. of Energy & Net Zero, to prioritise Worthing’s early designation as a Heat Network Zone. #WorthingBoroughCouncil
It’s great news that from today strong restrictions will be placed on junk food advertising💯 Food and drinks high in fat, salt and sugar (HFSS) can no longer be advertised on TV before 9pm and at any time online 🍔🍩🍟 #PublicHealth #ChildrensHealth
Labour has green-lit the first National Youth Strategy in 15 years - with over £500m of government investment We want young people, whatever their background, to have the skills, opportunities and connections to thrive - empowering them to shape their own lives and communities💚
It’s good news that from today all young children will be offered protection against chickenpox on the NHS🌈 The vaccine will be combined with the MMR jab, given at 12 and 18 months to protect against measles, mumps and rubella. Children up to the age of 6 can catch up on doses when invited✅
Happy New Year everyone! Wishing you all a fantastic 2026🎉🎉🎉 And if like me, you're taking dip today be sure to stay safe! ❄️🌊
It's been an amazing year and I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to get in touch, join me at surgeries and events, and reach out for support🙏 It is my privilege to serve as your MP and I look forward to another busy and positive year in 2026 🎉 A very Happy New Year to you all❤️
Today marks the 50th anniversary of Labour’s Sex Discrimination Act passing into law. As the 597th woman to be elected to Parliament, I celebrate this milestone - knowing there is still much more to do to make equality in law, equality in practice💯 #SexDiscriminationAct
The government has today published its Animal Welfare Strategy, which will greatly increase protections for animals in the wild, on the farm and at home🦊 🐮 🐶 I'm proud that Labour's strategy will bring long overdue, once-in-a-generation improvements to animal welfare💯 #AnimalWelfare
I am holding an online event for parents and carers in Worthing West on SEND. If you have or support a child with SEND and can attend a one-hour online session, please email casework@drbeccycooper.co.uk using the subject header SEND EVENT. Spaces are limited.
Together with @TomRutlandMP I’m working hard to achieve our goal of bringing our much-loved Lido back to life❤️ Our vision is to make the Lido once again a focal point of our seafront for residents and visitors, whilst preserving its unique and distinctive heritage💚 #Lido
Great turnout at the weekend for our Meet The MP event on Housing and Planning at Angmering Community Centre. Community engagement matters – and so thanks to everyone for your contributions on these vital local issues for #WorthingWest💚
Bird & Blend are a great International business with their headquarters here in Worthing West 💚 Their Christmas teas are fantastic and don't forget that they also have a café that you can visit on their Goring site🎄 ☕🫖 #BirdAndBlend
I am extremely disappointed by the Planning Inspectorate’s decision to allow development of the site west of Bewley Road in Angmering. While I accept the need for more housing, this ignores the wishes of residents and the democratic decision of Arun District Council.
I know this has come as a surprise but the decision to postpone the Sussex Mayoral elections until 2028 does make good sense ✅ By 2028 our Unitary Authorities will be in place and the good news is, Sussex and Brighton will still be getting an extra £38 million a year💷
Good news! Applications are now open for the Thriving Together Grant Fund — supporting community groups and organisations across Adur and Worthing💚 . You'll find all the information on the Thriving Together webpage: 👉 participate.adur-worthing.gov.uk/en-GB/projec... #ThrivingTogether
If you'd like to catch up on what I've been doing in Parliament and here in #WorthingWest - including my thoughts on last week's Budget - you can find my November-December newsletter here: www.drbeccycooper.co.uk/newsletter-n...

Today is #WorldAIDSDay, in which we highlight the fight against the disease and remember those who have died from it. The WHO is committed to its goal of ending AIDS by 2030. We must remain at the forefront of global efforts to reduce infections and ultimately eradicate it.
Fantastic afternoon at today’s Care For Veterans Christmas Fayre🎄- a wonderful charity who do so much for those who have served our country. Good so see so much support from our from our amazing Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets too. #CareForVeterans #ThankYou!
Great that govt will review the cases of 1000's of unpaid carers left in debt by confusing guidance on Carer's Allowance since 2015 This despite the vital work unpaid carers do, saving the UK economy £184 billion per year. If you've been affected visit carersuk.org
I'm extremely proud that this Labour government has scrapped the 2-child benefit cap, lifting 450,000 children out of poverty, including 1,350 here in #WorthingWest. It will also help relieve the huge pressure on local foodbanks like our own amazing #WorthingFoodFoundation. #Budget #ChildPoverty
@AlexBallingerMP and I have been campaigning for changes to gambling tax for many months. And so we’re delighted that the Budget will see an extra £1.1 billion raised from gambling duties by 2029-30 – with remote gaming duty to rise from 21 to 40 per cent in April💚 #Budget
