I am thrilled to be holding the 25th Anniversary issue of the Bellevue Literary Review and am looking forward to diving into its mix of poetry, fiction, non-fiction and art. And of course I'm tickled pink to have one of my #poems included in this illustrious journal. #poetry #writingcommunity
The cats tore through the room paying no heed Dust bunnies swirled with the force of a #hurricane On shelves goth dolls sang Calling to children that no longer came The dog with a whimper pressed closer to my thigh I assured it all would be fine Once the one who was summoned had arrived #vss365
No matter how often you return Full power into #harbour Drifting aimlessly to shore It always may be the last time The tides carry you back to me The ocean is eternity It’s smell that of both freedom and death They are the same after all Waves of love and anguish In tiny bits eroding me away #vss365
Free range child Not that I had your trust But there were #mountains To rebuff my advances At their base a library Home of lore forgotten What stood upon their rocky caps What was beyond the peaks Dusty pages showed me Not just what I would find But how to cross And still be home by dinner #vss365
Good influence or bad? I'm a little under the weather but trying to get in some time on the clock. They think I should join them and just curl up for the day. Choices choices.
Lost my intensity Perhaps at the hardware store Traded in for refuse bags Or maybe it sloughed off In grocery stoor aisles I'm now as bland As frozen foods in my cart No more #passion No songs to sing Did it rain today I'm reflected in a puddle I'm reflected in the grey Of a broken tv screen #vss365
Conflict Between my skin and your touch Taste and the sweetness of life Emotions and the will to be Conflict Feeds the root of being Keeps the eyes from seeing Brought you near Drove us on the journey Conflict We nursed it as a baby Gave it our strength Embraced it in all its glory #vss365 #conflict
Wonderful cameo by Peter Gabriel in the latest episode of Silo. His music has been used twice in the show prior. I was already a huge PG fan when this album took the world by storm. I haven't played it in a long time. 1986 was a crazy, pivotal, time in my life. I'm traveling back there now.
I have a painting of you Looks like a #poster You are my rock star A literary giant I admire A great leader who held my hand When the troubles came They say cut the #cord Put down the torch Shatter the mug with your name Who are they anyway I’d rather drift out to sea Then try to begin again #vss365

I carry regrets A leaf pulled by the river Swirling toward shore Only to be swept back up By the currents of shame The undertow of feelings Too long unsaid Rocks ahead I no longer Remember smooth waters There is no blame Only a destiny written In a distant time By someone elses hand #vss365 #ashamed
Nanci died 5 years ago today at age 68. I was lucky enough to see her live several times. An amazing songwriter and storyteller, master of interpreting others songs, crusader for peace and justice. Her music came into my life when I really I needed it, and I will carry her words in my heart forever.
You found me lost Weak Seemingly beyond repair Long un-watered Without seed Without root Your thumb green Heart gold Showed me a #garden Led me slowly there Untrusting I did not want to lie In the bed prepared Rain came Past washed away Time will tell If roots will take But for now They grow #vss365
Who invented the doughnut Was it an act of grace? If I could ask the doughnut Would it tell me ‘I was made this way’ Or when I eat the doughnut hole Separated at birth Do I kill a piece of its soul? An evil act of desecration Or maybe it's spelled donut And I should move on with my day #vss365 #evil
I'm reposting this because I'm excited you can now hide individual users reposts from your feed. Already used it. If you repost creative works I'm all for it. If you repost an endless stream of politics, even if I agree with it, I'm hiding them. Also, don't hide my reposts, I promise to be good.
v1.130 is live! Want to follow someone for their posts but not their reposts? Now you can — turn on "Hide reposts in feeds" for any account you follow.
Move along Move along home Love turned to toil Do you remember The chill we felt Our hands meeting in soil Calm to chaos Feelings would sprout Passions would boil The earth is sterile now Living only to be Each others foil Move along Move along home No urge to toil #vss365 #toil #sprout #urge #chaos
As I begin work on my next book of poetry I want to point you to my publication More Than a Whisper. I'm very proud of this work and the tales it tells. You're sure to see yourself in it & the world we share. You'll get a few snapshots of the dude in the picture too. Link in the comments. #poetry
