Lst few days has just been an andless cycle of me crying really really hard for a long time. Then feeling numb for a few hours. Then thinking about her and crying again. And just doing that over and over until I am too depressed to keep functioning and I go to bed .
Tomorrow morning my elderly emotional support cat Ripley is going in to the vet to have some mammary tumors examined and possibly tested. We have a feeling we know what’s going on and while the tumors might get removed for biopsy. We expect this to pretty much be EoL/ hospice.

Take a look at this male (left) and female (right) Mongolarachne (an Araneomorph from the Jurassic period) fossil pair. In it we can see that the male also has palpal bulbs and embolii.

And boys with embolii that are terminal. The one and done strategy works so well that males never evolved anything different I don’t think

Impossible to say. Spiders are some of the most misunderstood creatures on Earth. There’s infinite cool facts about them… like how we still have primitive spiders that are very close to how they were millions of years ago, how smart some species are, how maternal some species can be, etc
