All it takes is loving one person with an intellectual disability, or one person who themselves loves a person like that in their life, for you to stop saying that word. We grew up with it in the 80s. And I stopped using it when I saw I'd hurt someone I cared about. Everyone can and should.

It is so good to see @reportermatt.bsky.social, who was in like 80% of my classes in college, become the most influential reporter in Massachusetts. He just loves the place, and you can tell in everything he does. A truly wonderful man making the whole state better.

The university press's job is to get the university in the press. As a researcher, your job is to push back, push back, push back on anything they write about your work that isn't completely scientifically accurate.

I’ve never heard of a university press office that doesn’t ask researchers to review and sign off on press releases. Unless I hear otherwise, this is on the scientists, not the PR office

when you use AI to write code you put yourself in cognitive debt ; at some point you will have to spend the time and effort to understand the code, if you are ever to use it for anything you put your name on. May feel like a shortcut but really it’s only the beginning of your work it’s not the end
