Just in time for the 1.0 release of Palworld! Dare I say that this is the first Dragostrophe OC to exist EVER? ^^ Anyways, this is Mirekumo, brother to my Quivern OC, Kinai! Dragostrophe is a beta Pal and have remained that way so far, so here’s hoping they make it into Palworld! ><

A vulpine-like dragon with red fins on his forehead, red crotch and leg fluff, red nails, and pitch-black fur, wings, and tail. His hair is a long strand of dark purple along with his chest spike and fluffy arm fins, while a moon-shaped mark rests on both sides of his (dummy thicc) rump. He seems to hold a cautious and stern glare.

Mirekumo the Dragostrophe
- Younger brother of Kinai the Quivern; he/him. Has an edgy and brooding temperament.
- Weilds an explosive shotgun he calls “Kusanagi.” Will sometimes carry around another one (Kusanagi II) for extra firepower.
- Thou shall not heed the beast, lest thou suffer their final folly.
- He may look menacing, but he’s a big softie and appreciates hugs if you get the chance to know him! ^^

I’ve thought long and hard about making this post, but really, at this point, I don’t have much to lose. Desperate times, and all that.

TLDR version: I need a kidney transplant, and I’m looking for a donor. Read below for all the gory details.

Since late 2019, right before Covid hit, I’ve been battling a serious illness. I’ve been kind of cagey about what exactly is wrong, for a number of reasons, but here’s the truth—I’m in full kidney failure.

There is no history of this in my family, so when the symptoms began appearing I didn’t recognize them until it was too late. By the time I went to a doctor my kidney function had dropped into the single digits. Most kidney failure is caused by diabetes or high blood pressure—I got some weird kidney disease I can’t even pronounce and never heard of: Oxalate Nephropathy.

By adopting some dietary changes and careful monitoring, I was able to limp along with reduced kidney function for several years. But you don’t appreciate how much your kidneys do to keep you healthy until they stop working. There’s constant fatigue and nausea, and a general feeling of unwellness that never goes away.

But eventually I lost even what minimal function I had left, which left the end of the line for kidney disease: dialysis. As of this point I’ve been on dialysis for about 3 years. Let me tell you—dialysis is its own special kind of hell that you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.

But even that is just a stop-gap measure, and my condition is continuing to get worse. Despite this, I’m trying my best to live as normal a life as possible. I’m extremely lucky I have a job that’s willing to allow me 9 hours a week for dialysis, so I’m still working. On weekends I work on my art and comics, and one or two days a month I do my volunteer work at the bird-banding site. I can even travel to see my family—if I arrange for dialysis at a local clinic ahead of time.

All of that is done while trying to deal with the symptoms of kidney failure. I’ve known 4 people who were on dialysis—none of them worked or really did much of anything, and at this point they’re all dead, which doesn’t really give me a lot of hope for my future.

Which brings us to the point of all this—I desperately need a kidney transplant. That is the only thing that will give me a chance at a relatively normal life. I’ve been approved and on the transplant list for a few years, but the waiting period in California is very long. By the time I get to the top of it, I may be too sick to get one. Right now I’m still in relatively good condition, comparatively. A transplant from a living donor lasts much longer and is better in every way than one you get from a deceased donor.

Unfortunately, everyone in my immediate family is too old or has other health problems that preclude donation. So this post is a desperate attempt to find anyone willing to donate. I realize donating a kidney is a lot different than giving ten bucks to a GoFundMe, but as I said at the beginning, at this point I don’t have much to lose by asking.

Rogue the dragon, inflated to a giant, ball-shaped size, her arms and legs tiny and dangling at her side while her tail appears much bigger and hangs down. A hose is pumping air into Rogue’s mouth as her body floats in the air, a large “BWOOMPH!” symbolizing the sudden expansion of air within her new round form.

Named Dragostrophe, it is a black, fluffy, and dragonic Pal with red, furry eyebrows that stick out like a headpiece with two black fins on its ears. It has two fluffy blades on its arms, a red, fluffy chest and red fur on its legs. Its talons have two red toes, and Dragostrophe stands next to a tree, being very tall. It is possibly a similar height to Quivern.
