What I find hilarious about this is that if you find a particular book's prose too dense for your current mood/setting, that is totally valid, and it's one reason why there are lots of books. Read a less dense book. Read a more plotty book. Read a lighter book. There are lots!

I am aware of course of the wonder of mums and that they quietly hold up society with unpaid labour, but from becoming a dad at 25 it's always been frustrating how we are instantly and confidently relegated to second place without any knowledge of our lives or our roles in our children's lives.

Love this! Art materials are meant to be used! Yes, even the good stuff. ESPECIALLY the good stuff. Nothing is "too good" or "too nice" to use. Break in that nice sketchbook, use the nice paper, open the good paints. Don't put it on the high shelf and deprive yourself of enjoying art supplies.
