A gentle reminder that for this journal (and many others) the EIC and Managing Editor don't have any authority or rights over what the publisher charges or how they configure their emails. That's not a complaint, simply a reminder that queries about those have to be sent to the publishing company.

I'm getting through another cadre of new followers. Once again for the newer folks, this account is run by the EIC of Restoration Ecology (Stephen Murphy). I've been a bit occupied as the Managing Editor (Dr. Valter Amaral) & I have been addressing a lot of tech issues with our publisher's site.

The yearly conundrum: People send in MS, should we send for reviewers w/ 10 days before holidays in many places? We did send out - to be kind to authors. But we added a note on our boilerplate reviewer-ask saying we know this is close to holidays for many & ignore the usual 3-4 week ask.

Between the real me and this account, it's hard to keep up! Once late term madness ends, I'll catch up though.

While I am on a posting mini-frenzy (finally!) as the RE EIC here, I have figured out how to more easily switch between smurph and RE accounts. More posts to follow. Anyone who publishes in RE - or related journals (I support all) - do tag both the RE and smurph accounts so I can re-skeet.
