I play fantasy football. I sometimes try to read Pep Guardiola's mind.

Some big picture thoughts on #fpl 🧵: 1. The value of our free transfers to start the season is a bit lower than it's ever been before because a) defcon points decreases the impact that fixture difficulty has on expected points for a lot of viable picks (defenders and CMs).

Sold Rogers instead of Eze last night for Mbuemo. Debated both all week. Few hours later one probably has a double the other gets injured. Could have afforded Slot by doing Eze. Now I can't. Can't even afford Rogers back for Eze for a hit now (and get Slot) as lost value. Banter.

Owning Rogers, Mykolenko and Milenkovic since WC6 has been a masterstroke. Unfortunately, I have benched them basically every week 😂

Alright noobs, while you're unwrapping presents, eating food and enjoying Christmas with your family, some of us will taking #FPL seriously and making sure every stat has been examined in minute detail in order to maximise our value and expected outcome. I pity you tbh.

Setting up every game to stop and control transitions, sacrificing nearly the entire attack in the process, only to concede transitions anyway doesn't seem ideal. 🤔

Pep going full control mode vs a good transition team. Should be lots of possession in theory, can they turn the possession into chances? Guess we shall see. Assume Villa will try to catch them on the break when Gvardiol roams using Rogers ball carrying. Peak Watkins would have been useful here.

Will be interesting to see who is at FB from Nunes/Silva. Also if Foden is central with KDB, if so that will be the first time this season.

City team for Juventus should pick itself. Ederson/Ortega the main question mark. Hopefully Ederson comes back in. Unfortunately that probably means Walker ball again.

*Man City precited line up* After the good performance vs Forest, this week feels somewhat easier (famous last words), however City have picked up some injury doubts and face Juventus 4 days later in the Champions League so there should be some changes.

It happened and it worked well. It could continue and if so, that's very bad news for Foden, particularly as KDB is also back and managed 74 mins. Team mostly picks its self now vs Palace if Akanji/Ake are out (Pep why did you start Ake, most obvious injury ever that could have been avoided grrr).

There is also an outside chance of Grealish playing in the 8, there has been talk about it from Pep in the media this week & he is fresh (many of the 6s and 8s are shattered) we could see a wild Grealish appear in the centre. Anyway here is the 11, sorry I don't have much time for more elaboration.

Man City Predicted XI Don't worry, it won't be as long as last week. Generally things remain highly unpredictable given Cities recent 'situation'. Throw in a tight turnaround of games and it becomes even tougher, but ill give it my best go.

In what was a very tough week. Looks like we may have nailed the build up shape. As a bonus we nailed 9/10 outfield players. With Pep opting for Lewis over Grealish - Nunes or Foden going LW. Also catching the rare benching of Gvardiol More than happy with that. Hope you enjoyed my process <3

For the purposes of measuring accuracy I will side with the left team, CB into midfield. The right team is Gvardiol into LW/LC. Any player with a name underneath just shows the other option most likely to play there if I get the first name wrong. Good luck if you own Haaland =) #FPL

*City Predicted Lineup* Where to start after such a poor run of results, a lack of player form, misfiring tactics and injuries. If you're after absolutes, this is not what this is for, it's simply me venting my thoughts and the possibilities open to Pep in the hope I can get close.

I'll wait for injury updates after the press conference, but I'll try and come up with a predicted lineup for the game vs Liverpool. Seems close to impossible atm though with results being poor, bad form for much of the squad and a few only recently returning to training. #fpl

Gvardiol did his best to invoke the spirit of Walker in his absence. No Ake, no party. Box defending gone totally after he was removed. So lapse. Nunes great first half particularly. Lewis good both ends of pitch for majority of game. That's about the only positives I could see.
