I need to post about a random budget 32" 4k 165hz monitor. The $440 KTC H32P22P. This is one of the cheapest 4k high refresh IPS monitors you can get in the US right now. But that's not what caught my eye. It's an IPS with a claimed contrast ratio of 3000:1. So, obviously that's a typo, right?

I genuinely think AI is going to kill us all if we don’t put more money into it. Not in the Skynet way of gaining super human intelligence sentience and building robots to eradicate us. In the making stupid people believe their own stupidity and giving them confidence to follow through way.

Recently Disney announced that they are planning to do work on Disneyland's Tomorrowland. They didn't say _what_ they're going to do, or even give a real timeline, but it got a lot of people who are fans of the land excited. And lots of talk about the Peoplemover maybe returning.

The US auto industry is trying to get Chinese made vehicles banned from the US indefinitely. Their current argument is Chinese made vehicles track data about passengers and that it poses a privacy and safety concern. I agree. But we should also ban US and EU auto industry for the same issues.

The term “Disney Adult“ often gets thrown out there as a sort of derogatory name for adults who attend Disney parks w/o kids. One of the things that bugs me most about people who use it this way is they assume this is a recent phenomenon. That’s a gross misunderstanding of what Disneyland is.

I do really enjoy the rabbit hole that is people making their own clocks that set their time automatically… but also find it funny it usually takes a few hundred dollars because they invariably make them sync via the internet with some small computer instead of spending $5 on a radio clock chip.

The history of the modern burrito has always fascinated meme. As a kid I had a Spanish teacher who grew up in Mexico complain that it wasn’t a real Mexican dish and that it was an US invention. In his mind it was just a standard taco that gringos made up a stupid name for.

Being an adult means knowing you can have your kids' sugary breakfast cereal for lunch whenever you want, but choosing to acknowledge it's a really bad idea hen you do.

Every few months I see a post on the dead bird site about how someone vibe coded a game in a few hours and released it to show how easy it is to do. And if you actually try said "game" it's really obvious why games are still so hard to make... (because all of these vibe coded examples suuuuuck).

With the legal battles surrounding the "Prediction Market" betting sites being ruled as "futures trading" rather than gambling, I wonder how much of the gambling world will start rebranding themselves as such before people realize the futures and swap markets are just gambling.

Melon Husk has announced he has plans on building his own chip fabrication facility to produce 2nm chips; Terafab. I have no doubt they'll build out some giant facilities... but, uh... literally only ASML is currently capable of building machines that can make chips at that size.

Valve changed Counter-Strike 2's reload system so that you don't keep the unused bullets that are in your magazine, but instead loose them entirely. Years ago someone I knew argued that CS was _not_ a "true" tactical shooter because of the way they handled ammo.

One thing about this whole DLSS 5 debacle that I kind of feel like a lot of people are missing: It was shown at the start of the Nvidia GTC 2026 keynote. The GTC keynote is mainly a way for Nvidia to show off to investors and executives. And that group _loves_ generative AI.

Valve has changed their time frame for the Steam Machine from "later this year" to "soon". I guess that means it'll ship in about 5 years, or be officially cancelled in 10.

So, the US Supreme Court ruled you couldn't sue a President for anything falling under their "core constitutional duties". So if the President does something that they rule he doesn't have the constitutional power to do, does that mean you can sue him for it?

The Macbook Neo is fascinating for one very simple reason. It's using a A18 Pro SOC instead of an M chip. I think this is the first time we're seeing MacOS running on an A series SOC.
