In Usual June, the dead can talk - a lot. It's a good thing too, because neither the living or the dead can save the city on their own. Usual June is a new action adventure game releasing October 28th! 👻 Play the free demo on Steam now!

I know it's gauche to quote tolkien but genuinely the most interesting thing in his letters to me is this one from 1963 wherein he laid out in very plain terms what I think is THE fundamental thing that makes so much art have a life in your head beyond what you see on a page or play in a game

I am doubtful myself about the undertaking. Part of the attraction of the L.R. is, I think, due to the glimpses of a large history in the background: an attraction like that of viewing far off an unvisited island, or seeing the towers of a distant city gleaming in a sunlit mist. To go there is to destroy the magic, unless new unattainable vistas are again revealed.

accordingly i think you should seriously mistrust and esseentially *fear* the fundamentalist capitalist instinct to simply go fast now and if you dont go fast now we'll find someone who will profoundly self-destructive

appreciating today this thing i learned from distance running, which is that you can't actually train yourself to run fast *directly* you will hit a ceiling, hard, get injuries, etc instead you have to train yourself to run LIGHTLY and run SMOOTHLY at SLOW speeds. directly against your instincts

Dog Walker Bungee Allergy is self-explanatory, but very tricky to play. Managing your own movement while swinging around your dog (without sending them out of bounds, or into yourself or others) isn't immediately intuitive. I didn't do any playtesting before releasing it. #pico8 #pico1k jam

pico8 has never once prompted me to use an LLM, which i fucking hate, instead of doing the activity that i adore, that i built a life around, that i have worked really hard for a very long time and gotten very lucky to have the privilege to do !! i like my job!! i dont want a robot to do it!

it is genuinely demoralizing to try to open unity and have it be like "YOUR LLM IS READY" and then you close that popup and slack is like "ANY QUESTIONS FOR THE LLM" and you close that popup and then notion is like "OH YOU PRESSED THE WRONG SHORTCUT WHAT DID YOU WANT TO ASK THE LLM"

folks you can dip your toes into the biggest, deepest, fastest brough-like of all time right in your desktop browser, right now hatch some quality schemes and let your mind boggle at how wild even the tip of the iceberg can get !!

You can now play the 868-BACK demo on web browser! 👾 finji.itch.io/868-back 868-BACK is a computer-hacking roguelike strategy game inspired by dungeon crawlers—but the dungeons are computer servers, and your weapons are illicit software tools!

Managed to squeeze in a quick run of this and it’s a very interesting streamlined narrative RPG, with a handful of Blades in the Dark-esque ideas (flashbacks, gear), an interesting resolution system, as well as a fun multidimensional setting. Feels like micro-dosing TTRPG one-shots 😅

constraints CAN breed creativity, sort of, but i hate this way of phrasing it, because constraints can also hobble you - dogma can make you miserable and incapable of creating things what we really mean is that SOME constraints function as PROMPTS, specifically in the pre-hell-world sense
