The meeting allowed us to discuss diverse European agri-environmental policies that tackle collaboration at landscape scale. The excursion to the wonderful flowering alpine meadows of Feldis/GR taught us opportunities and challenges of in-situ conservation in agriculture.

Innovationen sterben zu lassen, um Marktmacht zu sichern? Klimawandel, invasive Arten, Resistenzen, lange Zulassungsverfahren und die gesellschaftliche Skepsis gegenüber chemisch-synthetischem Pflanzenschutz machen diese Thematik noch brisanter und verlangen öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit.

Ein wertvolles Werkzeug von @ourworldindata.org , zB um politische Programme selbst zu prüfen. Drei Parameter sind zentral für die Bevölkerungsentwicklung und die wiederum ist zentral für viele andere Entwicklungen und Politiken, darunter Klimawandel, Pensionssystem, BIP oder Innovationen.

Remote sensing is a key methodology in GreeNet to observe current grassland management in the 6 case study regions and to derive biodiversity friendly management regimes. This paper co-authored by @zanderventer.bsky.social highlights the need for alternative algorithms and rigorous reference data.

Gutes Beispiel zur #Bioökonomie . Eine Herausforderung sind die multiplen Ansprüche an den knappen Rohstoff Stroh: industrielle Faser, Energieträger, Dämmstoff, Futter, Einstreu, Humus im Boden,... Der Verwendungszweck mit der (lokal) höchsten nachhaltigen Wertschöpfung sollte sich durchsetzen.
