@sunandsoil.bsky.social document shredder, buckets and new planters. Shredded paper makes for a great way to absorb moisture and keep your soils from drying out too fast while also not letting the soil be sloppy wet. I'm getting ready to start the other side garden.

@sunandsoil.bsky.social yesterday I took some of the scrap from the cucumber towers to make watering spikes for my raised planters without irritation to them. To make watering easy even for beginners.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social A game of repurpose and reuse. I found these buckets on marketplace for free. And the PVC pipe on marketplace for 40 bucks. Drilled about 9 holes in the bottom and 2 up top for irrigation from the top. Cucumber towers ready to grow.

@sunandsoil.bsky.social Back to work on my own farm. It's been 6 grueling days of work to prepare the area and pour my new concrete pavers and lay down a yin&yang rock setting in the path way and then lay down mulch because this area is under a tree and I don't want to disturb the roots.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social this tree was rotting from the inside out. And needed to come down. At some point they may need a stump grinder to get it to the ground. But it's no longer a threat to the home. Great work today everyone.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social Ok. It's finally done. 6 boxes I salvaged from an industrial complex that was just gonna toss them. They are now raised garden beds. And about 5 yards if dirt moved and sifted it's done. 22 raised beds in all.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social so we needed a way to filter the dirt. Grass is a garden killer. Now we have a way to remove the grass from the dirt as well remove unwanted stones. I built it to sit at the top of the wheelbarrow or on the ground.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social Omg y'all, I am beat. Went on a raid this weekend for wood crates and pallets and I turned the wood crates into raised planters. For more tomatoes! I also planted onions and marigolds as companion plants to the tomatoes and more strawberries!! Can't I will update later.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social it's taken 4 about 5 solid days to clear this area for this player box. And build it out and fill. I have 7 tomato plants and a variety of onions and some garlic. These are companion plants to your tomatoes. Helps keeps bugs away.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social Ok. I need some top soil for it and some tomatoes. And this project is completed. I filled the bottom with scrap wood, coconut core, eucalyptus scrap, and a ton of other compost. A Sandy loam toper, and next top soil.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social new project. The extension of the tomato garden. I got enough tomato's to make a couple of salads from the one garden bed. So now we are going full bore with a new 14' ft x 2' ft garden bed. I will update as I fill it and we clear the other garden beds of dead plants.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social so I didn't have anyone to take a photo of me standing next to the tree. It is now neck and neck with my courtyard wall. I planted it last spring after taking a tour at the edge of nowhere farm. I plan to go again next spring to buy a fig tree from them.
@sunandsoil.bsky.social my Mulberry tree I bought from the Edge of nowhere farm is already over 6ft tall. I'm 6'3". It's not even a full year old. It will probably be 12ft by this time next year. The rest of the farm is taking hits. But if I keep this one alive I will be happy.
