The newest station on the network Okehampton Interchange opens TOMORROW ( 1st August 2026 ) the first train is the 07:05 to Okehampton, the first Exeter is at 07:26. There was a press preview event today, so I popped down [ made a video ] I think this will be the Thumbnail!

Ok, who want a Station Count update? Okehampton Interchange to open ... very soon! Balgray then has a confirmed September opening date, and then it looks like Bristol Brabazon station will be before the end of the year too - that'll be ELEVEN new stations that have opened this year!

Now I'm looking up the location of the new Balgray Railway station .... look on Google Maps to the east, and you can see where the tracks widen for an Island platform that doesn't exist - the location of Lyoncross Station which was never finished! A ghost railway station ...
New station Cambridge South opened on Sunday ( 28th June ) so here's the updated list of stations since 2020, we're up to 2597! Unofficially, I think the next four to open could be: Okehampton Interchange ( Devon ) Balgray ( East Renfrewshire ) Butetown( Cardiff ) Winslow ( Buckinghamshire )
