Jedes Argument gegen drastischere Klimamaßnahmen wird mit Leistung/Wettbewerbsfähigkeit/Produktion oder sonstiger kapitalistisch-neoliberaler Begründung unterfüttert. Well, hate to be the bearer of bad news, aber die Klimakrise schadet eurer Wirtschaft und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit genauso.

The far right operates within a democratic system, using the same democratic institutions as "the mainstream". "The mainstream" now follows far-right politics within this system. This should be the basic common ground & understanding when trying to counter far-right politics and protect democracy.

Perhaps one day people will understand and acknowledge that the far right, and especially far-right discourse, is not an anomaly, something taking place far "away" from the democratic "mainstream", but rather something now firmly established within and fundamentally part of it.

The "mainstream" discourse on Ceuta shows quite clearly how the discourse has shifted, how norms and humanity have eroded, and how fear of (or perhaps, agreement with) the far right shapes the politics and discourse of the day.

Ich lasse das hier mal so stehen. Das ist eine Ausdrucksweise ["Europa darf und wird nicht ein weiteres Mal *überrannt werden*"], die man sonst eher mit einer anderen Partei assoziiert. Und das Ganze wurde auch nur auf der rechtsextremen Plattform X gepostet, hier natürlich nicht.

Beat Meinl-Reisinger auf X: "Europa darf und wird nicht ein weiteres Mal überrannt werden! Die Ankunft zehntausender illegaler Migranten auf spanischem Territorium innerhalb eines Tages weckt Erinnerungen an 2015, als Europas Außengrenze faktisch durchbrochen wurde. Das darf und wird sich nicht wiederholen. Jetzt hat die Wiederherstellung einer sicheren Außengrenze oberste Priorität. Wir vertrauen darauf, dass Spanien nun entschlossen und rasch handelt. Ich danke meinem Kollegen, Außenminister @jmalbares , für die enge Zusammenarbeit und die laufenden Informationen. Er hat uns versichert, dass bereits die Hälfte der in Ceuta angekommenen Menschen nach Marokko zurückgekehrt ist. Weiters zählen wir auf eine konstruktive Rolle Marokkos als verlässlichen Partner und sind dankbar für die enge Kooperation. Jetzt muss unter Beweis gestellt werden, dass Europa in dieser Lage zusammensteht sowie rasch und entschlossen handelt. Es ist gut, dass die Europäische Kommission bereits Unterstützung angeboten hat."

DÖW gewinnt vor OGH gegen die FPÖ Der Oberste Gerichtshof sieht „keine, auch keine ‚schmale‘ Tatsachengrundlage“ in der Behauptung der FPÖ, das DÖW sei pseudowissenschaftlich. Außerdem stehe fest, dass das Personal des DÖW aus anerkannten Expert*innen bestehe. Die FPÖ muss ihre Behauptung widerrufen und künftig unterlassen. My three observations from today's return to 🇺🇸: 1) I've never been this quickly through immigration (i.e. never seen so few people arrive to enter the US); 2) I've never seen so many people be sent to the scary room for further questioning (ofc mainly POCs & ppl with passports from Latin America);

The Austrian 'Falter' reports that ex-Chancellor Kurz was also on MCC's payroll: He reportedly received 10,000 euros per month in consultancy fees from Modul University in Vienna, which is majority-owned by the Orbán-aligned MCC, but returned 110,000 euros to MCC after Fidesz lost the election.
