Kit had been waiting for its chance. For the most part, it lived on a table glued to its red and silver base. But it would be free once that base made contact with an NFC point.
As the base glew a radiant blue, it found itself growing and growing as its stiff body was able to move on its own, its plastic skin replaced by yellow scales.
The new Koopa shrugged and went to its room. It needed to brush its jet black hair and put on its outfit for all the nothing it was planning for the day.

I have a friend that I talk to a lot. And he provided me just the excuse to try something I’d been wanting to do for a while.
I took a deep breath in as the changes started. Gray fur with black spots grew all over my body as my nose moistened and turned black. A fluffy tail grew behind me, and I had to give up on my boots as my big fuzzy paws grew out of them.
I walked up to my friend. “Surprise,” I said, my tail waving around. My friend could only stand there in awe.

does anyone else find that some words are just linguistically gross or is that a thing specific to me?

“You think so?” she said, our skin unknowingly turning to yellow scales.
“If it were a small town,” I responded as our green shells grew out of our backs.
“That would be cute.” My friend — now starting to feel like my girlfriend — had her hair grow out into a ponytail. My shirt changed to a light blue hoodie, and our faces grew out into reptilian beaks.
“Love you,” I said, my boots growing on my feet.
“Love you too,” Koopie answered. “We have a great future ahead.”

I couldn’t stand being woken up in the middle of the night. In order to get back at my roommate, I thought I’d make use of my hoop-shaped head. I floated up to him and squeezed him through the hoop, landing face-first on the floor.
“What just happened?” a nervous girl said from right above me. When I got to look at her, I saw a familiar face adorned in a red and blue jester’s outfit.
“Don’t worry about it,” I said. I put my arms around Pomni in a gentle hug and watched as she shyly smiled at me.
