Trump claimed he would fix the Economy, but the average American Family STILL cannot afford a Cameo from the Rizzler

Hi there Bluesky, I took a break for a little bit to focus on other things but I'm ready to be extremely annoying online again :) did I miss anything anything important in the last couple months?
I'm begging brands to understand that I don't need to join a community of like-minded individuals, or get daily email updates from your founder, or learn more about the ethical practices of your business. I just need some shoes dude. That's literally all I need.
I find the "paid protestor" line of thinking as odd as the "everyone's a Fed" line of thinking. Is your imagination so stunted that you can't even conceive of someone taking action on their own accord? Is your worldview so limited in scope that every political action must be driven by self interest?
Came home late to a screaming cat who, when asked why he's crying, sprints across the room and dives into a box and begins purring. You have one guess what color this dumb-dumb is.
This article perfectly sums up the conversation between Coats and Klein, and alludes to the fact that the "dirtbag left" for all its flaws is vastly more clear eyed in its assessment of contemporary politics and our current historical moment. badfaithtimes.com/ezra-klein-i...
Ezra Klein Is Mourning The End Of The Civilacrum
Klein wants a simulation of politics without conflict. Ascendant fascism won't allow that.

Attorney for woman shot by Border Patrol claims officer said 'Do something b-----' before shooting

My take on One Battle After Another is that it is a mistake to view it as a film with political answers. The politics of the movie are secondary to the story it is telling, and they are not directly related to the politics of our moment other than "ICE is bad, immigration crackdowns are racist."
I'm saying this as someone with an undergrad degree in Poetry: you should feel embarrassed if you tell someone you have a degree in Podcasting.
Syracuse University, which costs $100,000 per year, has opened a school to give degrees in podcasting and social media influencing 🫥
This is a blatant first amendment violation
Kash Patel fired an FBI agent in training for displaying a gay pride flag on his desk while appointed to a field office in California last year. The trainee, who previously worked as an FBI support specialist in Los Angeles, received a letter claiming he had displayed an improper “political” message.
Lotta bad news these days but happy spooky season to all my fellow Adult Goths out there in BlueSky land. They can suspend our rights, but they can never suspend our Shudder subscriptions
Ok I get we're all talking about Hegseth right now, but y'all been check Hud.gov recently?

The Radical Left are going to shut down the government and inflict massive pain on the American people unless they get their $1.5 trillion wish list of demands. The Trump administration wants to keep the government open for the American people.

I'm actually glad that military leaders were present in the room for this. I think it's important that the people who actually do things understand the priorities of their bosses and the disconnect between them
Trump to generals: "We have beautiful paper, the gorgeous paper. I said, 'throw a little more gold on it, they deserve it. I want the A paper not the D paper.' We used to sign a piece of garbage ... I want to use the big beautiful firm paper."
Any comic performing at Riyadh who signed this thing is NEVER allowed to say "you can't joke about anything anymore" ever again
McDonalds running Extra Value Meal ads during NFL games is a recession indicator
Calling top military officials from around the world for an in person meeting so I can tell them about this CRAZY dream I just had
Two things are true: 1. Trump has amassed extraordinary power in the presidency—thanks to a compliant Congress and a pro-executive Supreme Court. 2. Trump is increasingly unpopular. These twin dynamics will define U.S. politics through the 2026 midterms. Buckle up.
Government overreach and direct threats to the first amendment are NOT when you want to extend grace and empathy. This entirely missed the point of the Kimmel situation to begin with and the FCC's current goals as outline in Project 2025
Jimmy Kimmel’s Return: A Rare Opportunity for Grace, Empathy and Healing
After any tragedy, especially highly publicized ones, info spaces get flooded with speculation, rumour, and misinformation. In these conditions conspiracy theories flourish and muddy the waters, pulling energy away from the hard work of finding and understanding the (often unsatisfying) truth
If you think the text messages between Robinson and his partner are weird because he's not using memes, I need you to log off and go on a date right now and try that.
Political reporters everywhere: [ChatGPT:] "Explain the conflict between Groypers and Turning Point USA"
Researchers and analysts having to type up reports using "know your meme" citations after 48 hours and enough caffeine to send an elephant into cardiac arrest:
Between last night and the release of the suspected shooter earlier today there was an explosion of conspiracy theories about who was responsible for the shooting. As the FBI releases details now the key is to watch how they do it do not impact narratives created by different camps.

Gov of Mississippi Tate Reeves is sending National Guardsmen to fight crime in DC. I checked USAFacts.org, Jackson Mississippi has more murders per 100,000 people than DC by a large margin.
DC is a welcoming city full of culture and joy, including vibrant street parties in the summer. I've driven all over the city, including east of the river late at night, and I cannot for the life of me begin to understand why these people feel so threatened.
A sitting Republican senator says he is so scared driving in DC that he doesn't wear a seatbelt out of fear he might get carjacked and won't be able to escape www.mediaite.com/media/tv/rep...
DHS is recruiting using a not-so-subtle reference to a 1978 book from white nationalist William Gayley Simpson, Which Way Western Man? Simpson's book was released under an imprint associated with the National Alliance, founded by Turner Diaries author William Luther Pierce.
Hearing from friends who work in downtown DC that they're already being told to work from home. Drove through downtown just to check it out and it feels sparse even for summer time here. Many locally owned businesses were already struggling, I can't imagine this will help.
