Codes of ethical conduct should weave moral fibre through all of public life. The EIC would like to thank the recent contributors to our call for evidence, including the British Museum, who found time during their busy Bayeux Tapestry exhibition preparations to talk to us.

Work on creating practical guidance which will support public authorities to develop and embed codes of ethical conduct in line with the Hillsborough Law, is progressing. Thank you to the CSC, Protect, MOD AIRU, IoR, College of Policing, IBE, LGA and UCL for your constructive input this week.

Our Chief Executive was delighted to meet with Thelma Stober today. Thelma leads LGA's Legal and Governance area and is assisting our work to supply guidance to the public sector on their new duty to provide a formal code of conduct under the Public Office (Accountability) Bill.

We’re continuing to gather evidence for our Ombudsman Review. Many thanks to those regulators who attended our roundtable, and also to Gareth Davies, Comptroller and Auditor General for the NAO, who provided evidence to the Commission last week.
